Any advantage to going in August as opposed to July?

We're planning to come down from NJ sometime next summer for 8 days. On the agenda are:

Universal and IOA
Sea World (including Dine With Shamu)
Busch
Aquatica
Kennedy Space Center

I would like to know if there are any advantages to going in August as opposed to late July? We are flexible on dates but will probably fly in Friday night and fly out the following Saturday night. Also are there good days or bad days for certain attractions?

Thanks for any input!

I'm also interested in what it's like in mid to late August - crowds? We have always tried to take our DW trips in September or October but now that my kids are a little older it will be too hard to take them out of school for a vacation. I don't mind the heat.

late august doesn't have the crowds.
the parks do close earlier since less are there in the parks at that time period.

value season started aug 16, in 09.

don't be scared off by the rates posted.
those were rack rates for this year.

the 2010 rates have not been released yet.

sometime in 2010, the super saver rates, better AAA and APH rates will come out.

Cooll, thanks! Anyone else? Bumping this up.

We can deal with the heat as well. When we come DS will be 7 and DD 21-22 months (we will of course adjust to meet her needs). We're thinking of staying offsite for most of the time but if they do the "7 for 4" it is tempting. I'm most interested in RPR, out of the 3 on-site Universal hotels.

We're set for tickets - I got the 7-day deal from Undercover Tourist for US/IOA, and we will be getting the premium Sesame Place passports this summer so it includes admission into all Busch parks for the whole year (parking too)! :goodvibes

Oh - did I read correctly that there is a charge to park at the Universal resorts even if you are staying there? Do they also charge on-site guests to park at the theme parks?

there is a parking fee for the hotel guests.
it is based on per night stay.

if you have the AP, you get free parking in the parking garage.
