Any advantage to adults eating early?

Since OP asked about an advantage, I have one.

On the current MDAS cruises they are doing the Marvel deck show twice. If you have second seating and go to the MDR, the first show is during your dinner. So, if you have first seating, or if you do not go the MDR on Marvel night, you can see the show twice.

Prior to COVID, they only did it once per night.

Depending on what time of the year you are cruising, if you are doing Palo/Remy for dinner, earlier might be better because if the sun is still out, you get a great view out of the windows.

Once the sun goes down, all you can really see is a reflection of yourself against a black backdrop.

Technically you don't need to be on early to get this however you just book Palo/Remy for an early slot. what time your main dining is really doesn't make a difference for this.

Yes, I understand that. Since this is an adults-only trip, I was addressing one of the wider advantages of “eating early,” beyond just 1st or 2nd seating.

I would leave the early seating to families with young children as a courtesy.

oh for goodness sakes, early seating is available to everyone, whether you have children, area a group of just adults' or a solo adult. If people want to eat early they can, its not reserved for groups with kids and statements like this make first timers feel that they should not book early seating!

I would book early even without kids. I have lived in countries where 8:30 dinners were common, but we would also go to bed at 1-2am. So we had time to digest and enjoy our evening. On DCL the “nightlife” all putters out around 11am and there is not much to do after that. I like to be able to spend the evening after dinner enjoying live music or other entertainment, and if I finish dinner at 10pm there’s very little time to do much after. On another cruise line with more of a late night scene I’d feel differently.
