I thought this would be a cute new thread to start up... Have any of you decided to dress up for this years MNSSHP along with your little ones? I've decided to dress up as Minnie Mouse right along with my DD6. I've finally convinced my DH to dress as Mickey Mouse, along with my mother as Snow White's Evil Queen and my DD's Godmother as Snow White... I think we'll all have the best time this year! So any other adults have decided to dress as their fave characters this year?

My mom and I always dress up along with my now 6 y/o DD. We tend to dress up in easy to pack costumes that aren't outlandish. One year I was a doctor and my mom was a sports fan. One year we were both aging mouseketeers. I made us t-shirts with our names on them like in the Mousekeeters club. Last year we were cheerleaders. I found CHEER shirts online and bought us pom poms and away we went! The pictures are always so much better when we dress up. I have seen adults wear everything there so dress up and have fun! Your costumes will fit right in!

We're now thinking of a return trip and maybe MNSSHAP or MVMCP. If we go in Oct my DH and I just discussed last night about him being Captain Jack Sparrow and me the Bride from Haunted Mansion. Do you think my wedding dress will still fit? :rotfl:
I think it'll be fun to dress up whatever we decide to wear.

I'm thinking of wearing a 50s outfit, poodle skirt, saddle shoes or plain white sneakers. However, my son has decided he doesn't want to dress up. I assume it's his little cool teen thing he's going through.

I'm not sure if I should go ahead and dress up, or just get us matching shirts and hats. I'm sure he'd LOVE that idea. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

YES! YES!
I just can't decide what as yet.
Have a few ideas just need to find the right items to go together.
My 33yr DD will also be there in costume.

Than there is trying to find something to go with the lime green theme.

I'm definately going in a medieval queen, maybe a Juliet costume hoping to give the illusion of Princess Aurora's Mom - isnt it good to be the Queen?? Dh will be a Deadhead, my dad has a leather biker vest, and hat, maybe I'll add a mouseketeer element??? :rotfl2: Biker dad!! Mom thought she would just wear a Halloween tshirt till I told her I wanted to be Queen, now I think she might go with a Princess Costume!!

DH and I have not decided. DD is going to be princess Jasmine and DS is gonna be the bellhop from the TOT his idea...so cute he's only 5. :rotfl: Kat

Just a friendly reminder. I dressed for last years MNSSHP. It is still very hot in Florida in October. I was dressed with long flimsy sleeves and was still very hot.

Go get dressed have fun!!!

We did it twice. It's fun. Just don't get a costume that might be mistaken as a CM.

We dressed for both the 2003 & 2004 parties. We went 10/31 in 2003 and 10/1 in 2004-- both were still very, very hot at night. So plan costumes accordingly.

In 2003 we had a group of 12. The 9 adults dressed as pirates. Then last year is was DH, me, and DS. We all went as a pajama party. It was easy and lightweight. We actually got a lot of comments from the CM's.

I can't wait! We're bringing our three daughters (10, 12, 16), and all five of us are planning on dressing up. My 16 year old daughter and I go to anime conventions and she always makes amazing costumes to wear, so this is right up her alley. We've been brainstorming for a little while, and, I assure you, whatever we wind up doing, it'll be eye-catching! This is our first MNSSH, so I'm really happy to see others saying they'll be dressing up too.

I'm just wondering, do you think they'd have a problem with us bringing in props? Depending on what theme we do, we could be carrying anything from a basket of flowers to a key blade (don't worry, it's not like it sounds! For anyone not familiar with Kingdom Hearts, a key blade is a weapon that's really just a great big key) most likely made out of either wood or even papier mache, but nothing that could actually be used as a weapon.

I didn't give DH a choice! :rotfl2: He will be a Ganster and I am a Flapper. At first he rolled his eyes, now that I have begun the hunt for DD8 & 12's costumes, he's getting into the idea.

Ywa yes we do dress up

And Hopefully if anybody find that Lilo red and white fabric pls. keep me in mind I have been looking since the time we got back last year from our 1st MNSSHP :sad2:

You are more than encouraged to dress up for the mnsshp but no masks are allowed covering the face if it's the same as last year. I went last year dressed up like a demon bat, was cool I had these giant wings strapped to my back that folded out on the sides lookin like that villain from Fantasia Chernabog. Then I had fake tattoes on me and shredded clothing and make up and fake blood on. I was harrassed by one cm though for looking too scary(yeah right)! I had one person ask me for a picture also so that made my night. I think I was the only person there who looked scary tee hee hee!!! It's an awesome experience though especially for lines for rides. Didn't have to wait in one.

Yes, we will. DD's bday is Halloween, so we always have a costume party and then head to MNSSHP and get even more use out of our costumes...
last year we were Jack and Sally from the Nightmare Before Xmas and DD was a bumblebee fairy...not sure what we will all be this year.
