Any adoptive cat parents out there?

Aw! She's gonna be a winner.

We just got back visiting a foster that we dropped of at the pet store last week. We miss her, but with 10 cats of our own already, we just couldn't keep her. We fostered her for 3 months and really got attached to her. She would love to sit on my lap while I was on the computer!

You do get attached to them. MouseTrap has a cold. She is now sneezing. She is going to the vet tomorrow.

Seems like our last two batches of fosters all had sneezes. We went through so many bottles of Clavamox. It works well though.

Congrats on your new cat and her sitting on your lap that is always a good sign.

I have two that we adopted over a year ago both are now 2 and as loving as can be.

Cleo was a little nervous at first. She hid in her carrier for a whole night (sneaking out for food, water and litter box a few times) then the next night she jumped up onto my bed and got right onto my chest and snuggled in. Now you can't get rid of her lol

Caly was the polar opposite she was so happy the first few days then began hiding and not being a "family"cat. Then about 4 months ago she really started to become loving and more social again.

So I agree that patience is key and the reward will be the soft purr as you pet her.

Do you get clavamox from the vet? I am worried that she has an upper respiratory infection. She is coughing and sneezing but her nose isn't runny and she is getting around eating and drinking.
