DH, DS, and I are traveling with my parents in a few months. We are renting a condo. My parents flight back home is at noon. (We are from different states). I had planned on us catching a flight back around that time, but I am having a hard time finding anything for a reasonable price. Therefore, we may have to catch a 5:00 pm flight home. Is there anything near the airport we can do after we drop them off to stay busy for a few hours or am I stuck chasing my 1 year old up and down the terminal for 5 hours...

Thanks!

Orlando is a BIG airport - it will take time to get thru security - so I would go to the airport - okay not as soon as your parents - but definitely be there by 2pm - you might be able to wait until 3pm - but I won't.

there is a bunch of stuff to do there. they have several restuarants and gift shops.

Trying to remember - what since I don't have kids it is hard - I think they have a play area?????

Drop them off in front of the airport and find something to do for a few hours. It is only about 25 minutes from DTD or something like that. Also there are malls not far away to kill time until your flight.

I would be at the airport 2 hours before flight time to drop off rental car and then go thru the lines. Give yourself wiggle room for just in case things.

There is not any play area at MCO that I am aware of. (I also have two kids) It is hard keeping them occupied for the time before we depart. I usually aim to be at MCO at least two hours before take off - taking into consideration dropping off hire car (on-site or off-site).

At MCO, land side you have a few shops (universal, seaworld etc) and a restaurant. Air side there is even less. 1 shop, starbucks, food place.

You do have to clear security - there can be long lines, but it does seem to be moving reasonably these days. You also have to get a train to the terminal.

If you are looking for cheaper flights consider flying into/out of Sanford (SAN) or Tampa (TPA) - we have had good flights into/out of Tampa - it is only a hour to Disney - same with Sanford.

Sorry, I don't know of anything to do close to the Airport, unless you head back to DTD, Old Town Kissimme, or to a Mall.
