A 2BR is perfect. I would give grandparents the master suite area. It is NICE to have that living room area to gather, eat, etc. And that washer/dryer!
I’ve stayed in a Poly studio twice this year. Once with 2 friends, once with 1 friend. Love it! Didn’t feel crowded at all. Having 2 bathroom sinks gave us more room for our “stuff” and we could get ready at the same time. Stuck luggage under the bed and over by the sliding door. Seemed better than when we all stayed at BWV.

See, I think the studios are spacious too. But if we were not DVC we would be staying in a moderate room, which is less space.
We love the poly studios. We don’t want the kitchen (although the washer and dryer would be nice). And, my family of 4 fits fine in the studios - even with all 5 of our suitcases (yes, I pack 2). We bought enough points for 8 nights during food and wine. I don’t foresee us ever wanting to have a larger room but less days, and I don’t see us adding on points because we were comfortable paying the buy in upfront and the yearly dues and very reasonable right now. I guess my point is, to each his own. The poly studios are booked while we are here, so enough people must like them!
It sounds like you are similar to us - looking for the best use of your points. That’s why we love studios even when we have 4-5 people. For 6, I would do 2 studios for the best use of points. I would do a 2 bedroom if you want the kitchen and laundry. I would splurge on a treehouse villa if you want lots of space.
Sure - I guess by space I didn’t mean square footage. I meant distinct bedrooms. One for mom and dad, one for kids, one for grandparents - living room remains free of anyone sleeping.
Sublime, not a waste. If I had the points, I'd book a grand villa each and every time! Even now, I insist on everyone having a bed, and a bit of privacy, so it's a 2br with 6, most often.
