Hi! We are first time cruisers travelling from Dublin on Sept 1 for a Sept 3 sailing with DCL.
We were planning to have our antigen test completed at Dublin Airport prior to our flight on September 1st. We would have our test at 2am us eastern. Would this test still be valid for our cruise or would we need to do a test at the port? TIA

Yes, it should be fine as it is 2 days not 48 hours, and since your time is later than us so the results will still say Sept 1.

Do you think Randox would be accepted? They have a location at Heathrow and we could get ours done there before we fly, as we are also in the same boat (pun intended)

We'll be using Randox in Dublin too. I'd imagine they'll be fine as they were accepted for entry to the US when covid tests were required, so fingers crossed!
I'm relieved to find out that it's the date of the test that matters rather than what time it was taken..one less headache!

Ah thats cool, I remember hearing about Randox during everything but never paid much attention.

Yes as long as its within 48hrs you are all good.

I feel like Heathrow will be easier than the test place I found near my home, as again I am unsure if they would be accepted or not.

What cruise are you doing?

Oh no does the test have to be within 48 hrs? We are leaving Dublin on Sept 1 and the test will be at 7am ..so 2am US time. We are doing the Eastern Caribbean cruise with DCL on Sept 3. So maybe our test won't be valid by the time we board..

Sorry I class 2 days as 48hrs. But yes take the test Saturday or Sunday and it'll be fine

Ooh nice me and mine are thinking about one of those for Christmas next year.

We are doing the Alaskan 7 night in September

You will have an amazing time in Alaska!

Travelling from Dublin 1 month after you for our honeymoon and also have to do the same thing. Cruise is a Saturday we fly Friday so I’m just gonna test Thursday night. You fly on our wedding day. Have an amazing time :) nice to see some fellow Irish cruisers.

I understand what you are saying..I class 48hrs as two days also! However in the case of the cruise we are on it will be around 56 hrs between the test and boarding the ship which is why I wasn't sure if it would still be valid.
Alaska is on my bucket list! Have a wonderful time!

Thank you, you too I've watched vlogs for the EC cruises and they look like so much fun
