Remember the recent TV ad... "I'm too excited to sleep!"

I go through that every year, too. I'm sure most of us do. I wanted to relate a story from our trip this year. But, shhhhhhh, I'm not supposed to tell anyone. :rolleyes1

We booked our trip to start on Sunday this year -- taking advantage of the discounted Sun-Thr night points while they last.

When we woke up Saturday morning, the day before we were to leave, I somehow didn't notice how excited my roommate was. I also didn't take note of the fact that he'd gotten up at the crack of dawn, had shaved, and was all turned out in his travel clothes. I'd woken up late, was sitting around unshaved in a pair of old sweats, and was surfing the net in my armchair.

At about 9 am, he said to me, "Keep an eye on your time. Our flight is in three hours."

It absolutely broke my heart to have to tell him our flight was actually in 27 hours. :guilty: He'd gotten his days mixed up, and had to go through the whole day-before-the-trip-anticipation ordeal a second time. Poor guy.

Aww, poor guy! But...:rotfl:

FWIW, we LOVE starting vacation on Sunday. It means we can do all that last-minute work wrap up with less stress. If we leave on Saturday, that usually means I work like a fiend on Friday, then leave work to run errands before stores clothes, then finish packing, then maybe get some sleep. Leaving on Sunday means that there's no Friday rush, I can leisurely do those last-minute errands and get my vacation pedicure on Saturday, and we all get a good night's sleep before we fly out on Sunday.
