I work in a Federal Building/courthouse in San Francisco. The behavoir of these so-called peace acitivists is disgusting.
A saw a woman, clearly trying to get into work, try to jump over the barricade, be violently pushed to the ground. I saw a man trying to jump over the barricade, have his briefcase taken from him and have a can of coke poured all over his clothing.
I mean, there are people here doing such things as processing mortgage applications for low-income families, providing office space for agencies such as the Bureau of Indian Affairs, people trying to report to their jobs as janitorial or cafeteria workers in the building. These people are NOT "baby killers" (this is what they are shouting at us as we try to walk by.)
What does puking sour milk all over the sidewalk where people are trying to walk prove? Lying all over the street, so that buses cannot take people where they have to go - how does that advance their message?
What makes them think that their right to free speech is more important than my right to go to work and earn a living to support my family? What makes them think that they have the right to physically assault me or anyone else?
I am so upset now that I am literally shaking. I cannot even leave the building to get a sandwich or some fresh air because I will likely be assaulted trying to get back in (verbally, for sure, perhaps physically as well.)
