Anti nausea med available on board

Sour things also help. Your brain can't process nausea and sour taste simultaneously. "Preggie Pop Drops" are sour candies made for morning sickness, but the general principle of relieving the nausea is the same. You can bite a lemon if you don't have any sour candy. :)

I prefer meclizine for motion sickness but I am having trouble finding it at home. I have scop patches and sea bands ordered. What is available on the Fantasy just in case? Thanks

It is available free on board (from guest services or the medical center).

Note that the packets they had when we were on the Fantasy contained aspartame as an ingredient. The tablets are chewable, thus "sweetened".

I purchase Dramamine Less Drowsy which contains meclizine as the active ingredient. I used to get it at Walmart, but at the nearest one to us it is not on the shelves anymore (last several months). I therefore order it from drugstore.com . Each Dramamine Less Drowsy tube contains 8 tablets. They are not chewable and therefore no aspartame.

Note that most or all of the chewable meclizine tablets will contain a sweetner, usually aspartame. For some this is not a problem, for others (like me) it is.

And they taste horrible, in my opinion. I took one, once, and that was it. It actually makes one of my kids vomit (the one prone to car sickness, which is what we use it for, since he doesn't get seasick!). So, that's not ideal. I give him the pills, instead.

Anything for kids??

You will get varying opinions on this, even among Dr.'s. Technically speaking though the only thing FDA approved for children under 12 is Dramamine for Kids. My grands are 11 and 12 so this is the route we are taking. I'd much prefer Meclizine/Bonine because it's much less likely to cause drowsiness but it's not approved. I thought for sure there would be scopolamine or something prescription but apparently not.

I know there used to be a children's Bonine, but it isn't available any more. I wonder what happened. (My Google fu is failing me.)

We could get Dramamine for adults from the guest service.
For kids, they sell them at the gift shop. DD was 5, so we gave her the half dose.

Sea Bands may be a non-medicine option that works for some (they work well for me, but are not enough for cruise ship motion sickness; I wear them + take meclizine and ginger and even all of that doesn't get rid of it, just down to a level where most of the time it is a minor annoyance. I LOVE cruising DCL though, so totally worth it :-) ).

They have Sea Bands for adults and kids.

We used Dramamine For Kids for the little ones. For us, we just go to guest services and ask for the ones they give for free. I think those were good for 12 hrs per dose
