first, what pin in DLR do you have to buy to get a bird hat? and second, do they still have the finding nemo quest to get the middle at DLR? i am going this Friday so i need to know. Thank you in advance.

the pins come in sealed packs of two so you dont know what ones you get till you actually open them but they are referred to as the vmk pins or the pirate quest pins

I am not sure about the Bird Hat pin, but I am pretty sure that the Finding Nemo quest is still around, since I went two weeks ago and it was there when I went on the ride. :)

The Bird Hat pin can be found most easily on ebay since if you buy them in the park it will be a random pack and there is no guarantee you will get the bird hat. If you buy it offline it should be around $15 since my dad bought me the whole collection for my birthday but that can be quite pricey

The good news is you don't even need to ride Nemo to get the quest cards-look for the end of the very, very, very long line and the Cast Member will have the cards. Just ask for one of the Nemo cards and they were great about giving you a few! Have fun and if you get a chance-Nemo is adorable-we did ride it twice. Have fun!

Here is an explanation of the pin sets, from the Players Guide Sticky. The pins are available at both WDW and DLR. :)

i just got back from DLR yesterday. i saw the pack of 2 pins and 1 random vmk card for $14 at a shop in frontierland near the golden horseshoe. you can get the nemo quest packet by going to the long nemo line and people will be handing them out. take as many as you want, they told me they have to give out 300,000 nemo quest packets by september because they are getting a new quest in september. hope this helps :thumbsup2

I am so confused about this though i thought they "Ended in park quests in disneyland" I thought yavn said they werent doing that anymore in disneyland...

i believe the nemo quest is the only one left..

I think there are eight sets? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi,

There are 10 pins total. Each box you get 2 pins with the matching VMK card for the pin. So 2 pins 2 cards. They are sealed in a box and the pins and cards are sealed in black plastic in the box. You do not know what you get until you buy the box and open the items.

Okay, and how much are a box? And are they sold at WDW?:confused3 :confused3

From what I understand the Nemo quest was set up before they decided to close the VMK Central kiosk. So they decided to give them out at the ride. I think with how they were handing out for a bit the quest with no cards it was obvious it was not meant to be done that way. But it is the only quest left at this point.
BTW, the CM that said there would be a new quest may not really now this info so take however you want at this point. But unless something is said on the VMK site (even then we have no clue considering the track record) I don't believe it. I would love for us to have more quests but am not going to hold my breath for it. I'm still not thrilled that we don't get the other seasons cards. Unless we will by some quest handed out at some ride or something (which we can hope:goodvibes ).

I don't know where they sell the Mystery Pins (as that's what they are) in Disneyland, but at WDW, they sell these anywhere most pins are sold. Pin Central at Epcot and Pin Traders in Downtown Disney Marketplace are two examples of where they've been sold.

The only problem you will have is that for every box of two pins, there's still a chance you'll get duplicates when you buy multiple boxes. And...you cannot return a box of Mystery pins once you've opened it. I don't know if they will accept a sealed box, but from what I've read, once you buy it, you cannot return it.

I've had friends buy the pins for me, and I had a few duplicates. Of the ten pins, I still haven't gotten the gold treasure chair or the Pirate Prison room. (I'd rather have the chair vs. the room, so I'll probably buy a bunch of pins, then trade the duplicate real pins.)

Hi,

They are $14 plus tax a box and when we were at WDW they were sold anywhere pins were sold even our hotel (POP) sold them. We even found them for sale on the Disney cruise ship. The pins sold at DLR are the same ones as WDW so yes you could possibly get the bird hat pin. The real pins are really nice too.
