I was in Vegas a few months back and discovered gelato at Bellagio hotel. All I can say is yum! Are there any restaraunts in the World with gelato on the dessert menu?

Next question is about sushi. I've always wanted to try it but the thought of eating raw fish is too much. Can I get sushi minus the fish anywhere in the World? Or is it pointless to get sushi w/o fish? I'm sorry I don't know these things.

And my last question is about wine. I'm not much of a drinker but a friend recently turned me on to wine, namely Shiraz. So far I've tried, Yellowtail and another brand I can't remember the name. I liked the Yellowtail the most. On NYE's I had a glass of can't remember the name, McDowell, McDaniel, something like that. Anyway, it was the best wine I've every tasted. So where's the best place in the world to get a glass of Shiraz, or any other red wine you think I might like?

The premium plan is the perfect time for me to try any and everything I wouldn't normally try in the real world. :hyper: (I realize alcohol is not included)

They have gelato at Beach Club Marketplace at the Beach Club, a very short walk from the International Gateway Entrance for EPCOT. They might have it somewhere in Italy as well, but I'm not sure.

As far as sushi.. non-fish options usually include avacado or cucumbers or both. You can also get california rolls, which is avacado, cucumber, and cooked cold crab meat. I call cali rolls "beginners sushi" for those who want to experience the flavors and textures before moving on to some of the harder core stuff. Raw eel? Mmmmmm!

For sushi, if you fill squimish about raw fish but are okay about cooked fish then looks for the asterick (or some other disignator of being cooked) Nowadays most sushi restaraunts will indicate if a something is cooked or not. Especially look at the roll portion of the menu, there you can usually get a roll of shrimp tempura (fried shrimp) along with many other types of cooked sushi rolls. If you like it spicy hot, try a dynamite roll, the whole roll is deep fried and then gets a squirt of hot sauce

On the one or two piece side of the menu, if you like shrimp most places will offer both a raw shrimp on top of rice choice along with the a steamed shrimp choice. Choose the steamed shrimp to get the idea of a typical sushi experience is like.

If you like steamed crab, at most places they use surimame in the California roll which is basically steamed fish. The Californila roll is the most ubiquitous item on a sushi menu.

Ten years ago, I tried sushi for the first time and it was at Disney World. The California Grill will always be a favorite of mine because of they way the helped a sushi newbie. I would highly recommend it as a good restaurant to get your feet wet. Other posters have suggested California rolls and tempura rolls and I agree with them. Talk to your severs.....don't be embarrassed because they will help you. Enjoy!

If you get a shrimp or crab roll for sushi, those will most likely be cooked. Raw shellfish don't go over well.

A California roll will contain either cooked crabmeat or that fake crabmeat made from cooked fish.

As others have said, if you aren't up for raw fish, California Rolls (cooked crab), shrimp tempura rolls, or eel (I have never seen it raw, and I eat sushi a lot!) are good to try. I also enjoy rolls that just have veggies in them. I love tuna rolls, and if you feel adventurous, they are my favorite. But there are lots of cooked sushi options. (Contrary to popular belief, sushi does not mean raw fish!) Enjoy your first sushi experience!

I am excited to learn that they have gellato at WDW..DH and I love it and haven't been able to get any since we were in Italy! We will have to search it out! :)

Be careful with the shrimp sushi, however. I have had raw shrimp sushi. Its called Amaebi and its a sweet shrimp served raw usually in nigri style sushi.

As others mentioned, just ask your server if you're unsure about if something is cooked/raw.

don't waste your $$/time on the on at the cart in Italy/at Epcot--it was gross. The one at the Beach Club is fantastic--the only trouble will be what flavor to get. I highly recommend the chocolate and the mango!!!! Enjoy

You guys rock! Thanks for answering my questions and for not making fun of me about the sushi. And you don't know how happy you've made me with the news about gelato. :thanks:
