Another When You Were A Kid Thread

My first lunchbox was a late 1970s Mickey Mouse Club lunchbox (first grade). Unfortunately, the thermos had a tendency to leak... which made the lunch box rust!

The next year, I got this snazzy Tupperware lunchbox. These were very popular among the girls at my school. I kept that one till I graduated to a brown paper bag, somewhere around the 4th grade, I think.

wish I had kept it because this one is on ebay for over $900. I think I also had a Barbie one without the thermos. After that we carried it in brown paper bags. We didn't buy lunch at school until high school.

Went through a few in grades 1-4, then switched to paper bags. My brother had He-Man. Don;t remember what others we had.

This was the last one that I had in elementary school. until a classmate barfed on it during lunch detention.

This is the one that I had in college that held my cassette tapes. I still have it somewhere.

I had this one in 3rd grade and it was terrible! Smashed sandwich and leaking thermos every single day. haha!

I don't remember any others.

I think I switched to a paper bag in 5th grade. I remember school shopping that year and telling my mother I was too old for a lunch box that none of the other kids would have one. Then I showed up at school the first day and saw other kids with cool lunch boxes wishing I had one. :rotfl2:

My first was a Snoopy lunch box that Jeff Lowery threw against a shed and broke. :( He was angry because he kissed me and I slapped him for it.
Then I had a Holly Hobby. I think after that I had that Tupperware red one?

I know I had one, just don't recall what it was. It may have not been anything special.

I know mine probably wasn't either. I do remember the thermos and thinking how cool it would fit in the box with that metal thing keeping it in place. :)

This was mine. My mom picked it out. I still wonder why. I had no idea who The Beatles were, and my mom wasn't a fan. I'm sure she didn't realize this was a Beatles lunch box.

But I loved it. I was facinated by the weird illustrations. Little did I know years later I'd become a HUGE Beatles fan.

My mom gave the lunchbox to my cousin when she started Kindergarten  They seem to be very valuable now.
