We booked last week for October 26-Nov 2 with free dining staying at POFQ. We are trying to do mostly restaurants that we haven't been to before. It was hard to give up some of our favorites, but we wanted to try some new places! There are a couple of days where we need to cancel a reservation, still deciding on where we should go on those days. We'll cancel one as soon as we figure it out!

Oct 26: Ohana dinner.

Oct 27: Sci-Fi. Been here before, but don't like the menu at Prime Time and there aren't many options around as it's our DHS day. What do you think we should do?

Oct 28: Biergarten OR Coral Reef. Leaning more towards Biergarten. Opinions?

Oct 29: Sanaa for dinner. Opinions? I don't really want to go here, but this is the ONLY restaurant DBF specifically wanted to go to so I couldn't say no :littleangel: Has anyone been here? How is it?

Oct 30: Kona for breakfast.

Oct 31: California Grill, with reservations right on time for Hallowishes! Never been.

Nov 1: Either Kouzinna or Chef Mickey's for dinner. Leaning towards Kouzinna but really want to do a character meal. Opinions?

I have heard nothing but good things about Sanaa. We haven't been there yet but will be there the night before you. Also, I would choose Biergarten over CR any day. However, given that you are going to be there durring F&W and given your complaint on another thread about not having any character meals this trip, can you try to land an ADR for breakfast at either Akershus or Cape May for that morning. The earlier meal in the morning means more snacking around F&W in the afternoon/evening. Just thought I would throw that out for you to ponder.

Oct 27: Sci-Fi. Been here before, but don't like the menu at Prime Time and there aren't many options around as it's our DHS day. What do you think we should do?I feel your pain. TS choices are limited. Would you consider going over to Cape May or Captain's Grille for dinner?

Oct 28: Biergarten OR Coral Reef. Leaning more towards Biergarten. Opinions?Would definitely go with Biergarten, especially if you haven't tried it before. A buffet, but a good one, and the atmosphere is fun.

Oct 29: Sanaa for dinner. Opinions? I don't really want to go here, but this is the ONLY restaurant DBF specifically wanted to go to so I couldn't say no :littleangel: Has anyone been here? How is it? Sanaa is probably our favourite single TS meal in all of WDW!!

Oct 30: Kona for breakfast. If you wanted to do a character meal, this might be the time to do one. Just pick one close to the park you'll be at that day.

Oct 31: California Grill, with reservations right on time for Hallowishes! Never been.Hope you enjoy it as much as we did

Nov 1: Either Kouzinna or Chef Mickey's for dinner. Leaning towards Kouzinna but really want to do a character meal. Opinions?
Would absolutely pick Kouzina over CM for dinner. Haven't heard too many good things about CMs food quality for this meal

Looks like you've got some nice dining choices!:thumbsup2

If I were you, I would go to Mama Melrose instead of Sci Fi on your DHS day. I have found Mama Melrose to have the best food in DHS (other than Brown Derby of course but that is two credits on DDP). It is basic Italian fare, but pretty good.

Good choice on Sanaa. I heard it is great (we are trying it in the Spring).

We like Crystal Palace the best for character meals. We prefer it over Chef Mickeys.

Oct 27: Sci-Fi. Been here before, but don't like the menu at Prime Time and there aren't many options around as it's our DHS day. What do you think we should do? We like Mama Melrose. Sometimes we just order off the appetizers and have some wine and dessert.

Oct 28: Biergarten OR Coral Reef. Leaning more towards Biergarten. Opinions? 100% Biergarten. This is one of our must-dos! We like the food and love the atmosphere.

Oct 29: Sanaa for dinner. Opinions? I don't really want to go here, but this is the ONLY restaurant DBF specifically wanted to go to so I couldn't say no :littleangel: Has anyone been here? How is it? Try to get a table with a safari view.

Oct 30: Kona for breakfast. I would put a character breakfast here. CP if you are going to MK. Akershus if you are going to Epcot. Cape May if you are going to DHS or have a no park day. Tusker House if you are going to AK.

Oct 31: California Grill, with reservations right on time for Hallowishes! Never been.

Nov 1: Either Kouzinna or Chef Mickey's for dinner. Leaning towards Kouzinna but really want to do a character meal. Opinions? I'd do Kouzinna here, especially if you've had other chances to see the fab 4. We've done CM a couple times and it's fine, but there are better options.

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. Have fun.

Ohana is one of those places we always go to. The food and atmosphere is great.

Sci-Fi is a neat atmosphere with the same "burgers" as many other Disney restaurants, but cool. We will return in September.

Kouzinna is neat. I thought the food might be a bit better, but the olive oil was a taste of "Greece." My meal was fine, but not great. I might have ordered poorly though.

We are going to be at POFQ the exact same dates. Planning to return to Cape May, Prime Time, Coral Reef, trying Teppan Edo, Jiko and San Angel Inn - now rethinking everything! Arrgg...

For your HS day, have you ever done Mama Melrose's? It is very good food and a nice Italian atmosphere. I would lean toward Biergarten also. The last two times we were at Coral Reef, our service was ultra slow and in Dec. of last year DH did not get good food. I've not been to Kousinna or Chef Mickey's but I've heard 1900 Park Fair is a good character meal. Good luck!

Sanaa is fantastic. We loved it when we dined there on our last trip. We will be dining there again in October.

California Grill is our favorite place to dine at WDW. We dine there on every trip. We always start with one of the great flatbreads.

Kona is the only place that we eat breakfast at on every trip. It is a great place to start your day at in the world.

We ate at Kouzinna last year and enjoyed it.

If you really want to do a character meal I would suggest the Crystal palace in the MK.

Coral Reef is off our list forever! The service is just too slow :sad2: (and the food is nothing to write home about either).

Biergarten is fun and the buffet will have something for everyone!

We love the Sci Fi for lunch and is a must do each trip for us (but we just stick with burgers/sandwiches here). I agree that Mama Melrose is better than it has been in the past, but is still more food than we care for at lunch time.

Chef Mickey's is the LAST place I would go to for dinner (with Crystal Palace not being far behind on that list). Kouzinna is not our radar since we don't care overly much for greek leaning food. Can you get Chef Mickey's for breakfast if you really want a character meal? (Another good character breakfast is Tusker House).

CG is one of our favs, Kona breakfast is outstanding (and way better than 'Ohanas breakfast both in food quality and service), and we have never been to Saana (we love Jiko too much!)

I have to tell you, you are going to love California Grill. It is the one DH needs to eat at every Disney trip! We always book our ressie to watch the fireworks at MK. It is awesome! Great food. Makes my mouth water thinking about it!

Our next trip we plan on trying new places too. It's hard to give up our favorites, but we want to try everything. Enjoy! :goodvibes

The only ones I would stick with are Kona breakfast and Cali Grill...I would dump the rest, especially buffets

Oct 26 Ohana - great choice; we have always had good food and a nice all-around experience.

Oct 27 - I don't really love any of the TS locations in DHS, but you are only a short boat ride away from all the Epcot-area resorts. How about moving Kouzzina to this time slot, since that was a restaurant you wanted to try? Captain's Grill & Cape May are also good choices.

Oct 28 - Biergarten all the way!

Oct 29 - Sanaa does get really good reviews; since DBF specifically asked for it, keep it.

Oct 30 - I know the DisBoards are crazy in love with Kona, but why not move that character meal to this time slot instead? CP would be my first choice, but if you're not going into the MK that day then choose 1900PF or Ohana, depending on which set of characters you prefer.

Oct 31 - Hallowishes from Cali should be pure magic.

Nov 1 - now you have this date completely open. Pick another restaurant, or just eat CS/OOP if you needed to "make up" a TS credit because of using 2 at Cali.
