I had lots of little things but the one I was most worried about is when about 1 hour before the wedding I went up into the chapel to just check on everything. I noticed that one side of the unity candle was not really straight (DH's single candle). I proceeded to "straighten" it and I snapped it in two!
Is that a bad sign?
I didn't have any way to repair it so my Dad ran to a gas station to buy a cigarette lighter and we "welded" the two pieces together. There was a nice black mark around the middle. I then sent someone to tell my DH to be "very careful" with his candle when he went to light it because we were not entirely sure it was going to hold. I just knew it would snap off and set the altar on fire!
When we went to light the candles I could see the fear in DH's eyes. He was so careful with that candle!
I still joke about how before I married DH I had to "break him".

. I called him about 6 months before the date and he tells me he "accidentally" gave my date away. Now, we were scheduled to get married at 5:00 on a Friday night and he gave this other girl 4:00. He told me that since we had it first, he would honor our date and make them change theirs. I actually tried to change my date but couldn't because the reception halls were all booked (prom season) and I told him that I tried to change the date but we were not willing to move the time being that it was a Friday evening... blah, blah, blah. To make a long story somewhat short, the priest gave the other girl MY HOME PHONE NUMBER and I had her calling me, my mom and anyone else in the house to get us to move our time!!!!! We politely told her no and that we did try to move the date... blah blah blah. So, the priest told us not to worry, that she changed her time to 3:30 and she was NOT having a mass... just the ceremony. The coordinator at the church also reassured us that they would be out by 4:15 at the latest and they were not allowed to take pictures around the church.. blah blah blah. That was the condition that they took to keep the date. WELL ... I was on time and arrived at the church right at 5:00 only to see my guests waiting around outside the church (we are talking at least 200 - I had 300 at my reception). That other %*$(# didn't show up to her wedding until 4:45 and we later found out that her invitations stated that her wedding ceremony started at 4:30 (not the 3:30 it was suppose to). They were just coming out. Apparently the priest quickly made them run through their vows and that was it (and I here he wasn't very nice about it). I still didn't freak though... our ceremony started about 5:20, which wasn't too bad. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were pleasantly surprised to walk out the door to a fire engine sounding off (DH is a fireman). Our friends got together and planned it.
