Day 7--Saturday, October 15, 2005
I woke up earlier to get ready for my flight home to Boston. It had been a fun, but somewhat stressful first trip to Disneyland. I made the most of it, and tried not to let the problems I encountered at the Disneyland Hotel get to me too much.
After packing my remaining things, I headed down to Storytellers for my fourth character breakfast of the week. Once again, I received a warm welcome from the staff, and was seated right away at a table right by the fireplace. Jamie was my waiter for the second day in a row, and he couldnt have been nicer. I was using a voucher that included tax and tip, but at the end of the meal, I decided to give him $5 for taking such good care of me these two mornings. He didnt want to accept the tip, and only took it after I insisted. What a difference from the server I encountered on Tuesday night at Granvilles!
While I was eating, Chip came over and took a seat at my table. He put ketchup on an imaginary plate of food. I asked him if he wanted to put tabasco on his food, but he shook his head no. I asked him if it was too hot for him, and he shook his head yes. I told him he should sneak it on Dales food as a joke, and he laughed.
After breakfast, I headed back to my room to brush my teeth and grab my things. I headed downstairs to catch my 8:00 a.m. Super Shuttle to LAX. My driver was about 15 minutes late, and it was the same grumpy driver I had on my way from the airport to the Disneyland Hotel. He complained because there was supposed to be another family of four waiting for an 8:00 a.m. pick up. He waited for 15 minutes, and then spent another 15 minutes driving around to random hotels looking for the other passengers. He was one of the nastiest drivers I had ever encountered!
I made it to LAX with plenty of time to check in for my flight, and get through security. It was a bit of a hassle as you have to drag your bags from the check in counter to the x-ray machine, and the lines for security were a pain in the butt as well.
The flight home was uneventful. I got Asian chicken over sesame noodles for $8, and it was quite good. Very tasty and filling. They were showing the University of Southern California football game on TV, and they must have won the game just as we landed because as soon as soon as the plane touched the ground, the men on the plane erupted in cheers, screaming yes, and good play. At least Im assuming they were cheering for the football game. The landing was smooth, but nothing worth cheering over.
As I made my way to baggage claim, I was thrilled to see my sister and niece waiting for me. I was so glad to be home and seeing my family after a long week away from them.
