Another WDW Employee Arrested...

While I agree that this person deserved to be arrested, I wish that it wasn't so newsworthy. While most people hold Disney CMs to a higher standard, we need to remember that they are just people, and as such a small percent of them will not be honest, decent people. Just because they work at Disney does not make them all good-hearted, pixie dust spreading CMs. There is no company on the face of the earth with all honest, law-abiding citizens on their roster. Some papers just seem to get a kick out of posting that a person employed by Disney did something wrong.

Well, they do have thousands of employees. So the odds of a few getting arrested is pretty good. When you have District Attorney's getting arrested for the same thing and committing suicide to avoid the punishment...

I don't like it, but what are you going to do? I wonder where this guy worked?

These threads quoting news stories about Disney employees belong on the Disney Rumors & News board.. which is where I'm going to move this thread.

Thanks,

Knox

This is just another reminder that these kind of people are everywhere!!!

This was from the Orlando Sentinel. I'd expect it'd be in the local paper there. Same as any guy doing the same thing ending up in the local paper here. He deserves it. I think they should post their addresses too! :D

I don't believe other cities highlight the employer's name over the infraction itself. Actually, around here I don't think they mention the employer at all!

In central Fl recently there have been numerous sting operations and arresting men like this. :thumbsup2 Sometimes it is dozens they arrest in one night.
Out of those arrested I am sure they come from every walk of life. With tens of thousands of Disney CMs, there are bound to be some bad apples in the bunch, sad to say.

I agree. Here, the news would just highlight where the sicko was from, not where he worked. In these types of cases, Disney just can't catch a break.

These kind of sickos are all over the place, not just at Disney. For the amount of people that Disney employs, I think their track record is pretty good. Of course it is Disney and that makes news. But they lurk everywhere. It is very scary. :scared1:

The employers name is frequently mentioned if it is "newsworthy", if the individual is a teacher for example.

Around here they would say "Teacher at a local school", and not actually name the school. This protects the children at the school, and the school itself.

Yes, if protection is a concern the location is not mentioned.

Disney doesn't fall in that category however, so it makes sense they are mentioned.

I don't have a problem with them mentioning Disney's name, and in fact I think it's a good thing. There have been quite a few organizations who had a disproportionate amount of this stuff going on and only when it got out into the public was anything really done about it.

That's not to say Disney has a problem with this. If they don't they will just remain isolated stories.

Unfortunately, bad publicity is often the greatest fear corporations have, and therefore it's also the greatest motivator.

I think the main thing that should be remembered here is safety. I can understand why people would want to mention Disney as his employment. I have the tendency, at Disney, to think that I'm in another world with no crimes and allow my daughters (teenage) to go out of my sight. It's just important for us to understand that there is NO WHERE that we can feel "too" safe.
