I'm getting ready to walk my first reservation for an AKL concierge studio. I understand the basic concept but I had a couple of questions.

1) The dates I eventually want are Dec 7-15. Do I call tomorrow to book Dec 2-9 or can I book this 1st part of the reservation online? Right now it looks like Dec 7 is not available so I may have to be flexible. I understand when I want to modify the reservation I can't do it online. I'll have to call MS.

2) When I call back to modify my reservation for the remaining days do I have to call at exactly 9am? I'm in a meeting with my supervisor everyday at this time and it might be tough. Do you think 9:30am would be okay?

3) Reservations are available at 8am online and 9am on the phone. Right?

In order to book, the first night you want has to be available. I would try to go online at 8:00 am and see if the 2nd is available and grab it then.

I am assuming you went on today and found that you couldn't book because the 1st is no longer available...if not, I'd check and grab it if it still is..

Then, you just need to call MS, prior to the 11 month window of the last night you have booked and cancel out the first nights and extend for the dates you want. As long as you call prior to that date, it won't matter if it is 9 or 9:30 since you will be guaranteed the room.

If, when you try tomorrow, the 2nd is not available, then all you will be able to do is wait list and will have to keep trying until you can get something booked.

I do think that if you are already seeing the 7th is not available, I am assuming that others have already begun walking those reservations so checking several times a day with the online system might be a good idea.

Good luck!

My mistake.

I said that the 7th wasn't available but it is. It's the 1st that wasn't available this morning.

I'm hoping that if I go online right at 8am, Dec 2 onward will be available. So far it looks like they are still open.
