Another walking question.....POFQ/POR

What is the walk like between POFQ and POR? How long does it take? Is it pleasant surroundings? Thanks!

LOL..Funny you should ask. I was there last Sept at FQ. I wanted to just take a peek at Riverside and was told by a coworker before I got to FL that it was a quick walk. I started by the pool area in FQ. About 10 minutes into the walk, I was still in the FQ area and decided to walk back. Looking ahead, I didnt see Riverside in sight. I dont know how long it takes, but its more than 10 minutes!

The scenery was pretty though!

It's a beautiful walk! It seems like it took DH and I about a half hour but we were stopping to look at things and take photos.

From the farthest point of POFQ to the closest point of POR is about a mile or so.

So it all depends on where you start from and where you want to go. If you follow the Sassagoula River, it is easy to navigate the way and not get off the path. The closest resort building is Parterre Place; they are almost touching.

You can also take the water taxi over or back, if you are tired.

Which way did you go? its a 10 minute walk at the most ... from POFQ registration desk to POR registration desk .... along the river walkway.

It's definitely more than 10 min. walk from POFQ registration desk to Riverside registration desk--more like 20 min. It's a pretty walk, but we don't care to take another walk on top of the miles & miles we hike in the parks.

It takes 10 min on the boat!

Thanks for all the responses albeit a few mixed signals. Looking at the map, it looks like less than a mile...

It's quicker to walk than to wait for the boat. The walk shouldn't take more than 20 minutes, tops. A motivated walker can get there in less time.

The walk took us 15-20 mins. Its along the river so it's pleasant surroundings but we were there in September and it was also in the blazing sun. No shade around the walkway. We found the walk to be just long enough that we didn't ever feel like venturing over there again.

We just got back from POR this month and we did the walk and it's about a 10 minute walk. But take your time it's a nice walk along the river.

Just because I was curious if my recollection/estimate was close and since I'm at POFQ right now ...I just timed the walk from the door to the registration desk here at POFQ to the door of the registration desk at POR at 8:48 seconds (at a normal walking pace)

Agree with the above post by MinnieGolf, if your not in a hurry (and don't be) it should take 15 to 20 minutes. It's a nice walk, I can't imagine any other resort doing a better job in theming and landscaping than Walt Disney World. It's why we will never stay off-site again when visiting the Orlando area.

Another statistic ..... One lap around POR on the main walking path, using a gps app, is .65 miles and took us 12:31 seconds. Since its our last day at this amazing resort we are going to stroll over to the POR food court from the POFQ food court using the same app to see how far and how long it takes

Well, to put it in perspective, a few trips ago we stayed at POFQ. I wanted to get in my normal 3 mile run. Ended up running from our room, to the far end of the POFQ, then over to POR, around POR, and zig zagged in and out through most of the clusters of buildings. And by the time I got back, it was about 3 miles. Really not that much land there to find to walk even if you wanted to...

We're 50+ w/no kids and we walked from POR to POFQ after our carriage ride and loved it. I would say it took us 15 minutes. Very pleasant. I'd do it again.

It took us about 20-25 from POFQ Bldg #5 to POR pool. We strolled, not jogged. Mind you, I have short legs and my children were a little shorter at that time too. We swam for a while and had snacks there. On the way back, we took the boat back to POFQ. Would I do it again.. most definitely! It's a beautiful walk along the river.

If you are new to the resorts, make sure you take a map. It can get a little confusing, maybe that is why some people took more than 10 minutes. If you have little kids I sure it would take more time.
