Another Use Year Question from a newbie?

My husband and I are considering buying a small (50-100pt) resale contract. Our family would do most of our traveling between the months of August to December. Would a use year of either April or June be the best for traveling during this time period?? If I understand, we would have until late November or late January to bank our points if we had to cancel?

That's correct, as long as you cancel 31 days or more before your arrival date.

Banking has to be done by end of 8th month of your Use Year.

April Use Year banking deadline November 30

June Use Year banking deadline January 31

June would be better. It buys you a little more time to decide what to do.

I would think and August UY would be great. You would get your new allottment of points Aug 1st and would have until late March to bank......

If you are planning for mostly Aug-Dec, make sure you buy where you want to stay the most. From Oct -early Jan, it can be difficult to get a non-home reservation.

Thanks everyone for your input. I thought I was on the right track, but just wanted to verify it with people who understand it better than I. I think we may go for a June or August contract.
