On Alec: That makes sense. They test reading ability by having the kids read aloud, so I can see how that would be hard to test with Alec.Sorry - had to eat dinner....
The biggest concern right now is actually how he can communicate with the teachers so that they can understand that he is learning. The kindergarten skills are pretty easily identified by pointing, but once he gets into the intense reading it will be harder to identify.
Alecia is in 2nd grade.
I am losing a manager for about 8 months. He is having a pretty extensive surgery that will take about 2 months, with about a 6 month recovery.
Wow, a 6 month recovery? DH is still recovering from his knee surgery in December, and that has seemed like forever! I can't imagine a 6 month recovery. Poor guy. I hope it goes well for him.
