Hiya Alex!
hey, sam! what's new?

hey, staley, we were watching a commercial for the monster truck show several nights ago, and talking about dh taking the boys sometime (obviously not this year since dh is still on crutches.) the news that very night was reporting about the little boy's death. i had no idea there wasn't some sort of barrier between the crowd and those trucks! :scared:

My avatar.

Wasn't that horrible. I think they said it was some parts that went flying off the truck. There was supposed to be a safety system, but it apparently failed. Even at the Supercross they have certain sections that they put banners over and no one is allowed to sit there in case of flying motorcycles.

There isnt. I wouldnt let that stop him from taking the boys though. It is a FREAK accident. I have done some checking, and never, in 25 years, has something like this happened! It is VERY scary, and I am so very sad for that family. They have the lower levels blocked off so you cant sit in them..

They are saying that next year there might be a barrier though.

They do that at monster jam too. It looked like that family was sitting in one of the end sections.. really high up.

i like your avatar, sam, but i can't place it. it makes me giggle. :rotfl:

Well ladies, I'm headed to bed. Don't know why I'm so tired tonight, but I am. Happy Dreams!pixiedust:

yes, i read that the sponsors of the show said this had never happened before. also that the boy's parents are pushing for some sort of plexiglas or other kind of barrier.

dh is watching 2 1/2 men and laughing his head off. :rotfl2:

Whats new Alex?? Anything exciting??
not really, i'm afraid. my neighbor friend and her dds left town last thursday to visit her mom, and the boys were moping around. today i decided to do something fun, so i suggested red robin for lunch and hitting up a park of their choice.

ds8 said, 'ok, but it sure would be more fun if we could go with some friends....' i said we could call my neighbor, but i was pretty sure they weren't home yet.

so i called and her youngest dd answered the phone! she said they'd just gotten home 45 minutes before i called, and that they were just discussing where to go out to lunch. [cue twilight zone music!]

so we all went to red robin, and then to a cool park that we don't go to very often. the kids chased each other the whole time, it was awesome! got home having burned off a lot of energy, sweet! :lmao:
