And we also got to feed the giraffes.:thumbsup2

Love the little recap in your posts Melody :goodvibes

And yeah.. there was nothing wrong with the car. :confused3 Or at least the dealership couldn't re-create the same problem. There goes $150 (tow and expenses to be checked). We call it our craptastic day, seemed like everything was going wrong that day.

Now it's good yet again.. slightly stressed but good. :thumbsup2

Hubby came home with a smile and more happy work news.. yet another sign that he will have a job with this school next year. The principal asked if he was able to go to training (with his dialysis equipment), it's not set in stone yet.. if not this year (August) then next year.

The fun part..... it's in San Diego this year. :cool1:
San Diego!! Now that is hard to take!! I hope you guys can make a go of it!!!

Helloooo ladies! Pixter sent me a new signature! I'm showing it off, do you all like it??
I love it!!! But I'm hurt that you got rid of the Christmas trees I sent to you....... :snooty:

Man alive, our thread has become a ghost town! :sad2: Time to bust a move? NO! A priority chart! :rotfl:

DD, DS & DD's BFF at Atlantis Dolphin Encounter.
Wow! How fun!!! All of your pictures are great.:cloud9:
My DS and DIL are talking of going to Atlantis for their anniversary. She says it is quite expensive. Can you give me that email address for the promotions to pass along to them?
sigh.. crap..

E was running fine, halfway thru treatment and leaned a little on his arm while readjusting his body in the chair.

crap now what? :headache:

He felt the needle (arterial yet again) suck up to the side of the vessel.

Flipped the needle.. tried to restart. Nope.
Flipped and wiggled here.. wiggled there.. Nope and Nope.
Barely start the pump and he is hitting pressures of 270, 300, 380, 400 (max is to be only 250).

DING DING DING

Tossing out alarms and machine is stopping the pump.

Screw it he says, zero out all of it and call it a day.

I don't get it, neither does he or his team.

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

ah well, another day and try again. :upsidedow
Bernice, that is the pits.:headache: I hope you all can get the problem figured out real soon!!

Yes but it's the traffic on the freeway that I dislike! :rotfl: Last time it took me almost 3 hrs to get down there. :faint:

Is it crazy there now since it's spring break for some schools? I should ask Albort.

We seriously need a hyena get together. I miss you guys! :( Are any of you planning to head down here this summer?

I miss you guys too!!! Sadly probably no trips in our future....I think I might have to actually waste some AP's because our budget is looking a tad too tight for another trip this year :sad1:

Well the Mother Ship is calling me home. Did you really think I would be able to come to Florida and not go to WDW? Tomorrow we are turning in the rental car early, heading over to Blizzard Beach with my sister and nephew. Then I booked us a room at the All Stars Music for the night. Blizzard Beach closes at 5pm, so we will just eat at the hotel and tuck in for an early to bed night. Figure we can sleep in a bit Wednesday morning and then head to DTD for a bit. We then catch the Magical Express bus to the airport around 3pm, flight leaves at 6pm......sigh....then we are back home:):thumbsup2, but the weather seems to be in the low 40's and rainy:eek::scared1:.

Don't you just love my BUDGET vacation? Kinda makes you wonder what I would do if I decided to go first class all the way.:lmao:

If any of you ever head to WDW and decide to go to Cocoa Beach or over to the Kennedy Space Center, you must go to the Brevard Zoo. It is totally unlike any zoo I have ever been to. It is all in a natural setting, many of the animals are so close you can touch them. Yes, many of them are in cages, but even the inside of their cages looks like the jungle. Admission was about $10 for adults and a few bucks less for kids. We paid for the deluxe adventurer package and it was only $19 each. For that price we got to feed the birds (either nectar or seed sticks), our choice of the Africa or Florida kayak adventure, and fed the giraffes. Their food was very good and reasonably priced, $5 for hamburger and chips, $2 ice cream, $3 snack tray w/grapes, cheese cubes, carrots and mini crackers...and it tasted good too. The zoo is mainly run by volunteers and they take the time to explain things...we were looking at reptiles and a volunteer came over and took animals out for us to touch and told us all about them. It was so awesome. Their petting zoo had deer, emu, armadillos, tortoises and goats. It was such a hands on zoo, we were there from 10am-3pm.

I really do need to hit the hay, it's 10:30 here. I need to get up at 6:30am to get everything packed and to head over to Blizzard Beach! I can hardly wait!!!:yay::yay::yay:

Oh and I learned many new things today, thanks to the wonderful zoo staff. Did you know that giraffes have black tongues to keep them from getting sunburned.

That's fun tidbit to know. :)

There is something about smaller volunteer run zoos, you can tell the workers care about the animals and typically have some little perk for patrons. We have a free zoo in St Paul (Como Park), it's small which makes it perfect size for little ones to enjoy. There too you can get a little closer to the animals, feeding station for seals, petting zoo area and a show with Sparky the Seal. :thumbsup2 They have had to rebuild and reinforce the exterior wall for the gorillas.. one likes to escape every few years.
Next door to the zoo is the conservatory (also free) which is a treat in wintertime. Hot and humid tropical plants inside.. outside you see snow drifts piled outside the glass wallls.
In the summer they have a tiny amusement park, dorky carnival type rides (for preschoolers, don't think an adult would fit!) and a beautiful carrousel that is over 150 years old. Plus you can walk down to the lake and they have concerts in the bandshell, golf course, picnic grounds....

It was created to be similar to New York's Central Park.

This what I woke up to today

We are being hit with two bands of storm systems.. rain from the south and a blizzard that is losing it's OOMPH as it approaches from the northwest (North Dakota had white out conditions yesterday).

Followed with more snow on April 1st, no joke people. blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

It would be very good for these systems to just go away.. worrisome weather for the flooded areas in the Red River valley, they thought things were getting better.. now they aren't so sure.

Hubby was cheering on the blizzard, he wanted a break from his eagerly awaiting spring break crazed students.
uhh, dear? You do realize that we rarely close schools here in the metro.. right? The boys have had what.. maybe one snow break day in their entire life??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I love zoos! I'll have to keep this one in mind if I ever make it to that side of the US. DBF and I try to hit the zoo any time we go somewhere new. We went to the Phoenix Zoo after the Supercross a few months back. I think that is my favorite zoo so far.

How does having a black tounge help?

Good Morning Everyone,

I think I was having a kerfuffle of a day yesterday. First I spilled syrup on my clothes. Then I went to Target after work and bought a Feria' brand hair coloring kit. When I got home I wondered why there were 2 tubes of the shimmering conditioner inside. :confused3 I mixed the product and then applied some to the top of my hair. I look at the coloring wondering why the mixture isn't red like the color shown on the box. I look at the coloring serum and notice that it's golden brown and not red. :scared1: At least it wasn't beach blonde or something, which would probably really stand out. :faint:

I called Target back and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was super nice as I explained the situation. She put me on hold and went to search to see if they had the correct color. She found 1 and put it on hold in Guest Relations and told me to pick it up at no charge.

I quickly rinsed my hair, threw on some sweats and out the door I went. I drove like Cruella de Ville on the freeway. Target was closing in less than 20 minutes (cue the mission impossible theme song). I made it 10 minutes to closing time. :faint:

I checked the box and it's contents before I left. Everything matched and so off I went. The coloring is okay but it's not as red as I want it to be. I might just get highlights today but I need to find out the pricing form the salon first.

Yay! I was able to make an appointment to get highlights. I need to go down there and talk to the stylist to see if they could offere a discount. I was told that it's around $29 for 7 foils. That may be enough for me...not sure. :confused3

I have more pictures!! I had a big long thing typed out.. but I lost it. And I dont have time to retype it.

Please ignore how dirty my house is..
