Another Unfortunate Story

The wife of one of my co-workers recently attended a conference and stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. As this was a working time for her and her boss they had to use their laptops and respond to e-mail's and such. The unfortunate part was her boss forgot to disconnect her laptop and left it connected for several hours. The result was a $700 phone bill and Disney would not budge on the boss paying the bill. So just be mindful of how expensive utilizing the phone is and don't forget to disconnect those laptops.

While I do feel $700 is a bit excessive, I do understand. Remember businesses have to pay for phones by the minute, and for each call that is made, which is why many times hotels will charge even for local and 800# calls.

Same thing happened to a co-worker of mine a couple of years back at St. Louis hotel. She ended up being able to negotiate with the manager to get the bill down 1/3 of what it was by taking away their mark-up. My condolences to your wife's co-worker. She'll never forget to disconnect again!
