I was wondering if the meals for adults and children are pooled together like it was on the old silver plan? Because in the past there was no differance in the wishes for adults and kids other than price. So It was nice to pay for our kids meals out of our pockets and use the wishes for something more valueable. Another thing, it seems like you cannot use the kids club for MYW dinning plan unless you went deluxe, right? :flower1: I know I am probably asking too soon. I guess I will have to wait until Jan 2! lol

The new dining packages are just for meals no matter the resort you stay at. It is not like the old Silver Plan where you can use the wishes for tours, kids clubs, recreation etc.

It is called a DINING package

I guess I am not clear what I am asking! lol Too much X-mas excitement, sorry! The deluxe I am talking about is the deluxe dinning plan, not deluxe resort. I guess another way to ask would be is the all the meals (childrens and adults) be pooled together? On the old packages the adult and child wishes were pooled together. Adults could use the child's wishes since Disney did not keep track of child wishes separtely. I realize the dinning plan is not called wishes, I am just using that as an example.

There will only be 3 packages available in 2005
Regular Magic Your way Package
MYW with dining and
Premium package

The one with dining you will have one sit down restaurant, one snack and one counter service per person, the word is that they will be pooled together as you can use two sit down restaurants on one day if you wish, etc

The Premium package comes with 3 meals per day, cirque admission, tours, recreation, etc. so there is no pooling on this one. This package is similar to the old Platinum plan

What I am wondering is if the Disney will pool the childrens with the adults meals togethter? On the old silver plan they did not separate the childrens and adults wishes. So an adult can use the child's wish since they did not keep track of who used what.

I think we are going to have to wait until Jan 2 to find out. ( about pooling them together) You could probably call and see if they could answer that for you. I've called and they have been able to answer some questions for me and not others.

Disney is NOT going to be pooling the meals together like it did on the old silver package. There are specific requirements, and if you've purchased a child dining plan, that child HAS TO order off the child's menu to utilize their dining options, you can't use a child's options and order off the adult menu. From Magical Journey's website about the new MYW Dining plan:
The Disney’s Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining must be purchased for all clients in the party ages three and up. A client with a length of stay of 3-nights/4-days who elects to book Disney’s Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining would receive three table service meals, three counter service meals, and three snacks per person, for their stay. Children must order from the kids menu, when available.

Magical Journeys is also reporting that you will need each person's KTTW card to be swiped when using a dining option, this way it will definately be encoded as children's meals on the children's cards, and adult meals on the adult's card.

Drumflower I sent you a PM... :)

Liberty Belle...I don't necessarily need a PM, but I am a DVC member and was wondering if you have heard if they are doing anything for us??

Not a word Grimghost... Nada, they haven't said anything about DVC. Even when I went to the class, knowing I work at a DVC resort, they just kept saying we are working on that for DVC with everything. From what I was told the Member Service computers are not set up the same as the CRO computers, so they are not able to do all the things that CRO can do with reservations and packages and all that stuff. They have said that they are working on it, so maybe we will see something after the system rolls out. I know they would be missing out on a big market if they excluded DVC.

Can I order the meal package if I am staying with DVC points and pay for the package in cash? Any insights would be appreciated.

No, as of right now the dining option is an add on to the room/ticket package. You can only get it if you are purchasing the WHOLE package... it is not set up to be compatible with DVC point reservations....
