Why did they adopt these children if they didn't want to take care of them!? I mean, I can think of at least 10 families (many here on the Disboards) who are anxiously awaiting to adopt and who would take amazing care of these kids ... yet these scumbags get them!?

I am an adoptive parent who would go to the ends of the earth for my child ... and I am so grateful to have him and know I am totally blessed. I cannot believe that ANYONE who goes through the arduous adoption process would not be grateful of the gift that they receive!!!

Makes me so v. sad for those kids. I hope that they find loving parents for the children. I think that those people should rot in jail for the rest of their lives.

Jail is too good for them. I say tie them up in a mobil home with food in view but out of reach till they are 1/2 their weight, then maintain them at that weight for 3 yrs. Sick evil people. Who cleared that adoption? and weren't there any home follow-ups, is this not a requirement in family adoptions.

My thoughts as well. But, they'll go to jail where they'll be given 3 meals a day, unlike their poor kids.

You know, we read "Harry Potter" and sit in disbelief that no child is treated like that in their home.

Unfortunately the real life truth of children is actually more horrible than fiction.

We had twp home follow ups, the first about a month after placement and the second a few more months after the adoption was finalized. Nothing after that, though.

I am just shocked that the neighbors didn't notice and didn't call CPS!? Didn't other family members wonder why the adopted boys (their nephews, nevertheless) weren't healthy and undernourished!?

We had a similar case about 2 years ago here in NJ. The family adopted a few children and starved them as well. If memory serves, a neighbor spotted one of the kids rummaging through the garbage for food. The adopted children were all severely underweight, and some suffered brain damage as a result. The thing that made me want to vomit was seeing the pictures of the mother....big, plump, round, healthy as a horse. No one denied her food, but she made those poor kids starve.

I cannot imagine this type of torture for a child. It makes me want to cry when I think of any child being hungry but when I think of one starving while food is right there available, well, that makes me angry too.

I am so glad those boys are out of that home and I pray they will recover completely from the malnourshiment for so long.
