Or is turned into saw dust. :(

My next door neighbors had their giant elm tree cut down today. There's a hole in the sky where its branches used to be.

We've been losing lots of trees around here lately. It's kind of sad when you stop to think that most of them were here far longer than the development was.

Yet, when trees get so old and big that you worry about them every storm, I guess it's time for them to go.

The elm that came down today was half-dead; it was time for it to go.

The birds and squirrels who lived in it will find another home. :(

We have four huge elm trees on our property that have been here since the early 1900s. We get them sprayed every year for elm leaf beetle and have them trimmed. I really dread the day they have to come down. Hopefully we'll be retired and moved by that time, lol.

We actually left a couple dead tree trunks up after cutting most of the limbs off. The woodpeckers and red squirrels have multiple holes for nests. Really neat.

We have to have 4 dead trees removed sometime soon before they fall on our house. Two of them are elms that have Dutch Elm disease. The others are beech trees that the carpenter ants have devoured. I contacted a tree service to remove the dead trees and trim the ones that overhang our house. It's going to cost a LOT of Disney Dollars to get them removed, but it has to be done.

just watched tree trimmer climb to top of one of my pecan trees. He took off all limbs over the pool we had installed and a few other dead ones, was up there about 45 min and even raked up the leafs and blew sawdust of fthe deck. did an excellent job and only cost me 225 to get it cut.

Love the shape of the tall elms in my yard, but they give me the most headaches. Lose branches everytime the wind blows. The maple and ash trees seem to withstand the wind better.

we lost a huge tree in our year this week...storms knocked it onto our house (no major damage...sounds worse than it was...but now my yard is full of logs and sawdust....

:( poor tree...
