Another Transferred Points ?

I'm sure this has been covered a thousand times but I need to make sure that I know what is going to happen. I am going to be renting points from someone that has a October use year. I have an April use year. This person is going to transfer the points into my account. Their points they are transferring are good through September which makes me think they are 2004 points. When these get transferred do they go into my 2004 April use year or 2005. I'm pretty sure they will go to my April use year but I don't know if it will be 2004 or 2005. I am trying to plan for a trip and want to make sure what will happen.

They are supposed to retain their original Use Year and Home Resort status. If they will expire on September 30, 2005- they are 2004 points. You should be able to bank them if needed.

I have had points transferred into my account and they came in under the other person's use year but became my home resort points. Upon reading a print out for my points, it was obvious that Disney does not track home resorts very well (at least not yet) but the use year of a transfer is tracked very well and clearly indicated.

I have heard that others have had different experiences with this same issue. I would be careful of those 2004 points that may expire very soon after you get them, unless you are planning on using them before the end of September.

Thanks for all the replys. We actually plan on using them, I think, at the end of May. It appears then that we would be ok.
