Does anyone know if I can use a 2 day - 1 park per day pass to access IOA in the morning and then US later on that very same day, versus going back a second day as I won't have time to do so?

No, but you can change your ticket to a one day, two park pass at guest services. It is the same price, so they should just exchange it.
