another ticket price increase? really?

They are not raising prices to reduce crowds.

They do need to increase park capacity, but their discussion of Avatar, Star Wars and Carsland seem to move in that direction.

I've seen you mention Star Wars and Carsland expansions (particularly Star Wars) on other threads.

Sorry, but you got that information from a reputable source?

For me they are only the rumor of a rumor - the life blood of internet forums such as this. ;)

Seems building attractions has not been a priority in the Iger era. In the hay days of Disney world 1989 to 1998 two parks and many new rides were put in. If you compare that decade to what has gone down the past 10 years it is pretty lame. I sure hope they correct it soon. So far the only real start appears to be avatarland , as starwars and carsland are just rumors.

"We've talked about developing more Star Wars presence at the park. We don't have specifics there, but I can tell you there's a lot of active development there, not just for domestic parks, but for some of our international locations. You will see Frozen in more places than you've certainly seen today."

I would love to see more attractions at the parks but there is one thing I don't see anyone mention. Additional lands/attractions will increase capacity but won't they also increase attendance? Will it increase it to the point that the crowds are no better than they are now? And if they don't increase attendance why would Disney spend the money to create them? (unless they feel they have to for guest satisfaction)

This is what Disney used to do. I think now they are just trying to squeeze every red cent out of what they got, besides building more timeshares.

That's always a possibility, and it really depends on the ride capacity. If they build rides that carry through a lot of people in the vein of Pirates and Omnimovers like Spaceship Earth, I think they'd eat up crowds. Something like Soarin', which has a more limited capacity, is trickier.

We saw with Cars Land that DCA's attendance went up, but the people largely spent time in that area. The lines for the other DCA attractions aren't longer from what I've heard, and it's helping to draw more people from the Disneyland park and limit the burdens on that park.

I'm not even thinking as much about giant upgrades like Avatar and if Star Wars even happens at DHS. What I'd love to see is even smaller improvements or overlays that might not draw huge crowds but would spread them out. For example, improving Imagination and Energy at EPCOT isn't going to bring a huge bump in attendance, but they would come draw more people away from the headliners.

I don't let propaganda decide where my family vacations. I can't wait to take my kids to Sea World in the next couple years.

We are taking our DS (5) to Sea World in a couple of weeks. I've been a few times previously. My son is so excited to see these animals up close he is beside himself. It is the major reason we are coming to orlando for spring break.

FWIW, Disney also has animals at AK (obviously).

I always tell people when budgeting for a disney trip treat it like you would if you were going to Europe. There is so much to do its overwhelming so you have to plan. It's expensive but worth it! The trick is to go for a good period of time. We are going in February 2015 and are staying for 8 days which breaks down to tickets costing us $43 a day each. We can't go to a museum where we live much cheaper. We are staying at Pop Century for $927 for eight days and hoping to take advantage of discounted rates once they release them for that time period. They are a successful entertainment company and this is how they keep up with their quality. Every time I've ever been I haven't noticed things being run down or our room not clean. As for attractions not opening when they say....that's normal for any business. Remember they are in the business of creating and sometimes delays are necessary to maintain the integrity of the attraction itself.
