Saturday morning - Sunday morning - I'll be "lucky" if they get up before 11 a.m.. Zzzzzzzzzzzz..

So - I have to sit around twiddling my thumbs..:rotfl:

C.Ann start frying some bacon- they'll wake up!

Why do you need to sit around and twiddle your thumbs? If you were at "the lake" what would you be doing and why can't you be doing that now?

My bedroom is right next to theirs so the "polite" thing to do is to be quiet..:goodvibes

If I were at the lake? Hmmm.. Reading, writing letters, or DISing.. Books are still packed, don't have any letters to answer today, so I guess I'll DIS..:santa:

Yeah

Like scrapbooking!!!!:yay:

Up bright and early - huh? Looks like you had the same idea - sitting around DISing..:)

My scrapbook room has become the temporary storage area for all purchased Christmas gifts, wrapping paper, and will remain unuseable and locked until after Christmas Eve..:santa:

Are you confined to your bedroom when you are there? I don't get it. Why don't you go to the living room or kitchen or something. Also, how in the heck do they sleep until 11:00????? What is your DGD doing now? Does she sleep that late too??

what is all this talk about the lake? time to put it on hiatus for the winter.

Yup - all late sleepers here on the weekends.. I don't know "how" they do it - I'd wake up with a headache..

This is not a large house that is spread out distance-wise.. Bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom all on one floor..Not sure what I could do in the living room or kitchen that wouldn't make any kind of noise.. The rooms are just too close in proximity.. And no - I'm not "confined to my room".. That's a kind of silly question to ask - without asking about the layout of the house first - don't you think? ;)

Since this is "their" house - and they like to sleep-in - the polite thing to do is engage in quiet activities until they get up.. So........ That's what I'm doing..:goodvibes

Unuseable and locked?
Gosh-i wrap presents as soon as I buy them and put them under the tree. Cant imagine not having space for both activities.

All my wrapping stuff is in a neat upright Tupperware case with a handle. i keep it in a closet. Bring it out and wrap the gifts.
Since during the week-everyone in your house is at work or school-why not wrap then and enjoy your scrapbooking at other times?
:confused3

Wow! You must live in a very, very large home - with very, very large rooms for all sorts of activities! That must be awesome!! :thumbsup2

You are so funny...:rotfl: They're not the gifts that I purchased.. There's 3 other people in this house - one of which includes a child - remember? :goodvibes

No presents go under the tree here until the wee hours of Christmas morning.. Isn' that what most other people do when there's a child (or children) in the house? :confused3

Anywhoo - if you have any further questions, you can send me a PM.. One of the Mods informed me last night that this was the proper way to handle threads when they start to veer off in another direction - intentionally or unintentionally - or when the answers provided just "aren't" detailed "enough" for the poster posing the questions..:goodvibes

Well-good luck surviving December without scrapbooking.

I remember you said this was one of the activities you enjoy doing-and that was the point of this thread. Right? That you are forced to twiddle your thumbs because you have nothing to do.

Why can't you read or dis?...they are quiet activities and you said they are what you would be doing now at the lake.

Belle, you sound oddly obsessed with what C.Ann is or isn't doing. I saw you badgering her like this on a couple of threads last night.

She's DISing, you're DISing and so am I. We all spend time here. :) Who are we to judge someone else for doing the exact same thing we're doing?

Maybe you should find a house at a lake where you could live there year round and you would have your OWN rules to follow.
That way your posts about the lakehouse would be more current instead of packing the lakehouse, leaving the lakehouse, missing the lakehouse, moving back to the lakehouse, loving the lakehouse, this is what I would be doing if I were at the lakehouse, etc.

I AM DISing.. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: "Twiddling my thumbs" is a figure of speech..:lmao:

Our family always puts the gifts under the tree as they are wrapped (unless there is a toddler who would rip the wrappings off); that gives the "child"/"children" in the house more to marvel at and wonder about.

Just to answer your question.

Yes-when kids are small-but not in a locked room-got to be sneakier that that.

No-for when they get older-
Once the children are older dont believe in santa (6-7)-all presents are wrapped under the tree. that's part of the fun of christmas-jiggling the presents to guess what they are!
