Another SWA Newbie

I am planning to purchase tickets to fly SWA, but want to confirm the preboarding rules. The party will be myself, DW, and DS2 and I am wondering if both parents are allowed to preboard with the child. If someone can answer this for me I would appreciate it.

We flew SW in early May for the first time.

Preboarding was children under 5 with their parents.

Another question I forgot to ask if someone could answer, how easy is it to gate check a stroller? This will be our first time flying with a child and have never needed to gate check a stroller. Also, is it pretty painless installing carseats on a plane?
