Another Stroller Dilemma

OK -- Here is my dilemma. We have visited Disney 5 times with our son and we have always taken our Graco Quattro tour (I know, now one of the favored strollers here on the DIS< but we love it). He is now 3.5, 40" tall, and almost 40 lbs. The Graco seems so "babyish" for him and when he reclines to sleep, his head is kind of crunched by the fabric that connects the seat to the canopy in the back. So, I'm thinking we might need to take a different (gasp!) stroller this time. I have a Peg Perego Aria OH, 2007 model and a Chicco Ct0.5. My Dh will strangle me if I buy another stroller! (but maybe if I sold some or all of the ones I already have, I could get another one...) Anyway, which one do you think I should take? Any experiences with these strollers at the World?

I'm probably going to make DS "test drive" all of our strollers tomorrow and see how he fits in them upright and reclined, etc. He doesn't like to be buckled in any more, so the Aria's straps are kind of annoying, but the Chicco seems smaller and less comfy than the Aria. He likes to have a cupholder, so that favors the Aria...and the debate goes on. Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, I did post this in that long stroller thread, but I'm not sure anyone will see it there!!:flower3: PLease forgive me for asking yet another stroller question!

We just bought a Baby Jogger City Mini for our Disney trip. Our daughter is 4 years old and just over 40 pounds. She's tall and she fits in this stroller just fine. It fully reclines so she will be comfortable. The sun shade is huge.

We're replacing our Peg Perego Pliko P3 with this stroller.

Hi! I think I might have mentioned Macs in one of my other posts to you. Triumphs and Quests go up to 55lbs, and Techno XLR goes up to 65lbs. We love, love, love our Macs. There is also the Volo, but we don't care for this at all as our longer kids seemed squished, but you could give it a test drive in a local store. Check out online stores as many of them have good stollers sales right now.

Remember though that warranties are void unless purchased from a reputable dealer - just email or call and they will tell you what retailers.

Happy stroller shopping, and see you on our other board! Tiger :)

Id go with the Mac. I have the Volo and Quest. I love the Macs. They are just perfect for older kids as they hold up to 55 pounds. They dont have a cup holder, but there are some that I have seen that you can buy seperately and attatch to the stroller at the kids level. Cup holders arent that important to me. Quality and pushability are much more important. Thats why I went with the Mac.

I think I might take DS to Babies R Us to test drive some Macs today. I think that's the only way I'm going to figure this out!! Thanks!

I would sell all of the ones you have and buy the BJCM. I just sold my mac techno and am waiting on a BJCM mainly b/c I wanted something new. It has a nice recline, you can add either a belly bar or a snack tray it is super light weight and and extremely easy one hand fold that makes it small and compact. If you go the www.babyjogger.com under the products link select strollers than select city series and it will provide a video of each feature. There are several places that you can get them on sale sporting good stores bed bath and beyond and others.

Another thing the canopy on the BJCM is super awesome and is the ultimate disney canopy plus the fabric is extremely breathable.

I wish I could find somewhere to see a City Mini in person around ehre. I like the loks of it, but that darn fabric attached at the top of the seat makes me nervous. DS's head tends to hit that kind of stuff. He has a long torso and he seems to grow out of the strollers head first if you know what I mean! I like the shade on that city mini. It is cool. I do have a Kiddopatomus Ray Shade that wold go on any other stroller I get because I like to have DS nicely shaded at all times! Thanks for the tip on the City Mini, maybe I'll call around and see if any local stores sell them (although the Baby Jogger site said the closest retailer was in Philly :headache: )

Deleted message as I mixed up the stollers - I was thinking about Baby Planet strollers. They look like good competition for Macs. I did try a Baby Jogger stroller and it didn't work for my tall torsoed daughter at all. In fact, no jogging strollers did as the attached canopy was always a problem.

Happy stroller shopping, Tiger :)

the city mini holds a total of 50 pounds. they are so popular right now that green/grey is currently on back order the blue one is being discontinued the more expensive ones have a 75 pound weight limit. The only thing this stroller doesn't is the adjustable foot rest.

I ordered the orange one from a local store. When it comes in, I can test drive it and decide if I'm keeping it or not. If it doesn't fit him, I'll go to BRU and grab a Mac Triumph or Quest. Thanks for all the help, everyone!

Now, to take pictures and list my other strollers on Craigslist...

That sounds like a cool stroller - hope it works out well for you! Best of luck selling your other strollers, BTDT! Tiger :)

I figure if CL doesn't work, my local consignment sale is coming up in October and I KNOW I can sell them there! I'll let you know what I think of the stroller when it gets here!
