They have not yet gotten to plow our street from this past weekend's storm, and we are in S. Jersey which is going to get pounded on again! :scared1:

Looks like we are going to be snowed in for some time... time to take advantage and get some stuff done. Thank goodness my office is in my home...

I wonder how much we are supposed to get here in Maine.... I'll have to check it out.

Baltimore checking in. We have over 28 inches on the ground, up to 38 in some areas....And 8-12 on the way.

I just spent 52 hours at work. Arrived Friday morning, and didn't leave till yesterday afternoon.:scared1: I had nurses and nsg assistants working 3 doubles in a row, and approx 45 employees spending the night both Friday, and Saturday.

I can't do that again:headache: I can't even wrap my head around doing all that again tomorrow night:headache::headache:

I know! And we're still snowed in from this last storm!! :scared1:

Luckily we have kept our power and have plenty of food, but I have no idea when we'll be able to leave the house.

My dd is supposed to get her braces on Thurs. She had the spacers put on last week. I don't know if the ortho office will be open and if it is I don't know if we'd be able to drive there. :guilty: I'm wondering if it's harmful for the spacers to stay in an extra week or two if they or we have to reschedule our appointment?

Stay safe & warm everyone!

Last I heard, in the DC area we will get 5-6 inches. Not sure if that is still the forecast.

I could have gotten out yesterday but didn't. I'm going out today to take my neighbor to the orthopedic doctor (she either sprained or broke her ankle yesterday). Hopefully she will get an appointment. I am then going to the grocery store. I am fully out of food now. I hope by this afternoon some deliveries will have been made.

I suspect I won't be going into work on Wednesday. I doubt the Feds will close down Wednesday (it takes a LOT of snow to do that) but I'm not driving in anything slippery.

Has anyone seen a map with predicted totals? Every news channel here is talking about the storm but not one has talked about predicted totals that I have seen

Around here it just depends on which TV weather man you listen too. I just check the different stations online forecasts, and figure it is somewhere in the middle.

I have only seen a map that concentrates on the DC area. We seem to be on the bottom edge of the storm, which is moving west to east, so I'm thinking that if we are getting 6 inches, points north are going to get twice as much.

After this weekend, maybe they are trying to stop the panic:laughing: Hopefully the bread trucks can make deliveries today. People will be having strokes in the aisle if they can't buy there 6 loaves of bread needed before we get hit again;)

I am an orthodontic assistant - no, spacers won't hurt her if they stay in an extra week, so don't worry about that. :)

:lmao: I now understand totally why senior citizens flock south after retirement. Another South Jerseyian checking in. We got 20 inches. I had to shovel out a path for my dog to lift his leg.

Here's a weather site that focuses on the Mid-Atlantic and is usually accurate.

www.footsforecast.org

They predicted the last storm before the local weather teams did.

Per Sam Champion this morning, we ( NJ,PA,DE) are supposed to get 12 inches. On top of the 28 we already got.

At this rate, all my vacation time will be gone by the end of February.

I just went to my local weather site. This is what it says of the impending storm.

The past two east coast storms have spared Long Island this storm will bring snow that, at least, you have to shovel and clear. Stay tuned to News12 throughout tomorrow for a better idea of exactly how much snow should accumulate.

Hows that for a forecast! So definitive.:rotfl::rotfl::lmao: I'll make sure to tell the kids when they ask how much snow - you'll have to shovel thats all we know.:rotfl2:

I cannot handle anymore snow! I am sitting here in tears because I am so overwhelmed with all this snow. I spent yesterday digging out my car and I'm determined to finish the end of the drive today but the freaking snow is waist deep there! I'm going to need a snorkel tube soon to go outside if this keeps up!

I was going to go see my husband in GA this coming weekend. I don't think it's going to happen. You simply can't even get out.

Thanks for the map--looks like a lot of snow here..luckily, i am a teacher so i wont have to go in if its that bad..but im ready for spring!

Tina is there anyway you can pay a kid to shovel you out? Seriously, call a neighbor or ask around. We usually have kids walking the neighborhood with shovels. If you see some kid walking around, open the door and call out. Even if they weren't planning on doing it they may be tempted with some cash. Never hurts to ask. :thumbsup2

And if you can't find anyone, just take it slowly. As long as you have food than you can hunker down for awhile.
And I'm thinking there is some serious Caribbean time in your future. This is what you need to be doing some time soon - :beach:

Well, looks like 6-12 inches here...but we are right on the edge of the higher amounts, so a shift either way could change that. I am going to guess another 8 inches at least is comng for us on top of the 16" we got this weekend. It is amazing though how fast they clean things up around us. I was out Saturday night (within 24 hours of storm starting) and the roads weren't that great but easily driveable (highways were clear) and by Sunday late morning pretty much completely cleared.

Unfortunately we don't have the option of staying home, we are expected to get into work regardless so I hope it starts early enough Tuesday night so that it is pretty much done Wed morning so we can dig out and get into work hopefully not too late.

I've been ready for spring since January 2nd. I only like the cold through the holidays....then we can skip right to spring in my book!
