This newest Snow White Movie is being produced by the conservative platform the Daily Wire and is in response to the "wokeness" of the new Disney version. They are going back to the original story and characters.

Which "original" version?

The original stories were written in the 19th century in Germany by the Brothers Grimm. You can find their collection called Grimms' Fairytales. The original stories are much darker and violent versions than the Disney movies. I believe that's where the word 'grim' comes from. The stories were meant to scare kids and to teach them lessons (like Hansel and Gretel learned that you shouldn't talk to strangers). In addition to Snow White, the Grimm brothers also wrote Sleeping Beauty (titled Briar Rose), Cinderella, Hansel & Gretel, Rapunzel, Rumplestiltskin, and many many more. I have the collection it's a great read. Highly recommend.

I don’t think anyone would want their daughters to emulate that example of many other examples. But it’s just a movie.

no that is Cinderella (dont' forget that also Cinder's fun loving birds peck out the eyes of the evil stepsisters) , in SNow White's original Grimm brother's ending, After the prince does some necrophilia with Snow, they celebrate by having the evil queen being forced to dance to death in a pair of heated red hot metal shoes, now that is a wedding!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Disney Snow White has not even been released yet... so everything at this point is just a guessing game and people are freaking about a movie that no one has even seen. But then again folks freak about books they have not actually read themselves.... so why expect them to be any different with movies.

I stated that poorly. I should have said "the original Disney version". It is being promoted as a live action remake of the Disney cartoon.

I think the new 'woke' version would have been more well reviewed if they claimed it was based on the original, instead of a love action remake with a whole new story and characters. It appears the new narrative bought about a lot of opinions about how they changed the original story line.
