I got a call today that they are now changing our flight home. We were supposed to leave at 6:50 pm they changed it to 6 pm the lady asked if we wanted a later flight so we are now on the 8:20 pm flight I get an extra hr in DISNEY! We already have an arriving flight change from 6:30 am flight to an 8:15 am flight. Now I have to change our National rental AGAIN! Looks like I am going to make it my third change!

I would wait to change that National reservation until you are closer to your departure. National will hold your reservation for twenty four hours AFTER you are scheduled to pick up the car, and will only charge you for the time you use it. Changing it constantly will only frustrate you and perhaps make you end up with a higher rate.

I think this could be the first of many changes. United has already said that they could cut up to 50% of flights if we go to war (which looks likely!)

GAIL I did make another reservation and cancelled the old one. I did get the same rate. The only thing I changed was the time we were bringing back the car.

That's if United even makes it through the war.. I don't know if they are reporting it nationally or not, but here in Chicago, United has basically said that if the Unions do not give them the concessions that they need, they will liquidate the airline this year.

That is what USAirways did, threatened the unions. They filed chapter 11, forced all the unions into major concessions, and are now ready to come out of bankrupcy on March 30.

Hopefully that will be enough to pull them out. Apparently, at least according to the Chicago media, United is in such bad shape they could through out the union contracts and if this war lingers it still won't be enough to save the airline. Hopefully it won't come to that.
