I'm so glad I found these boards before returning to Disneyland after a 13 year absence. Thank you all for sharing your tips and tricks and thoughts. I know that following some of these gems made for a much better trip than I would have had otherwise. We had an amazing time -- TR is started over on the other side.

Fast Pass didn't exist the last time I was there, and I found a lot of helpful info here. By the way, why don't more people use this free feature? I was surprised. Magic Morning...wow. I followed - I think it was DLR29's suggested Fantasyland ride order. And at the risk of sounding cliche, it really was like magic. We did Peter Pan, then Dumbo, then Alice...all with no lines at all. But when we got off the rides, there were lines. Doing 8 rides in one hour - that includes Space, Buzz, and Matterhorn -was quite a change from my day pre-FP when standing in line for 1 ride for an hour was just what we did. Thanks to Hound's tips on Jedi Training Academy, I knew that my kids would most likely be chosen to participate if they held up a sign. DS9 came up with his own: "Jedi Rule....Sith Drool." He was the 2nd one chosen and it was a highlight to battle Darth Maul. Even little things like reading about the annoying screamers, which I had never heard of - I was able to warn my 3 year old ahead of time that people were going to scream in HM. It made a difference. If you are new here, the DIS is an excellent resource. I've only been around a few months and I'm always impressed with others' willingness to share their experiences and knowledge, especially when the same questions get asked over and over. ;) Anyway, thanks everyone! :goodvibes

Glad you had a good trip!

As for FP use...I know that some people get really really confused, and think it's a paid option. I tend to ignore others, but many have heard griping and grumbling about "if I had the money to skip the line" and that sort of thing. If I ever did hear it, I am quite sure I would stop and explain it to them (or just show them the whole FP explanation in the park map!). I think people get it mixed up with the Universal thing where staying at their resort OR paying extra gets you front of line passes.

But other than that, since you can't hold umpteen FPs at once, we'll sometimes get in a longer line, simply because we want to ride and we are holding FPs for something else, and it isn't yet time to get another!
