Another Richard Petty Driving Experience Question for the Ladies

I'm always reading about men doing this and having a wonderful time.

My DH and I are both NASCAR fans, but I'm more into it than DH is. I think it would be a blast to do the ride along (driving would be fun, too, but it's a bit pricey for us right now)! He's not so sure he'd like to do either.

My question is--have any women done this? If so, was your experience as positive?

not at WDW, but my MIL did the ride-along at Pocono a few years ago. She and her sister bought their husbands passes to drive, and she got an itch to ride while waiting and watching the others.
If you're intimidated by the car/track and the price of driving-- go for the ride-along. You'll know what to expect if you choose to drive another time. Many of the tracks offer this program, though not all are Petty Driving Experience per se. Dover has Monster Racing, Pocono calls it something else. Daytona also has it, and I think they have Petty.

I haven't done this, BUT I have been there 3X. DH has done the Rookie, and 2 Lifetimes. Last time my Dad did the ride-along. He's 70 and he LOVED it! He doesn't really get excited about too much, but he talked about this for MONTHS! Now, DH is younger and would NEVER want to just do the "ride-a-long"; he wants to DRIVE. But, I'm telling you - my Father was so excited about this. He really did not expect to enjoy it so much.

I do know that the "ride-along" goes faster (?145 mph or so) because it's a professional driver. If you drive, they generally don't let you go over 125 mph.

I really think your DH will be impressed when he sees the whole set up. And, the ride-along is so reasonably priced - you can't go wrong.
