Hello. When waiting for buses at the resorts, is there a line/queue or is it a free for all when a bus pulls in? Will the Disney Commandos elbow people who have been waiting patiently out of their way in an attempt to be 1st, or is there some semblance of order? I ask because I remember seeing a mother use her stroller (with kid strapped in) to muscle her way to the front of the loading area for the trams in DLR, so she could make the rope drop. I want to know if I should wear steel toe boots, or tennis shoes. Thanks.

At the Beach Club last June there was just a big open space for all of the buses. They didn't have the corrals like they have at most of the theme parks. People tried to form their own lines especially in the morning. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. :)

Most people are pretty good. BUT...the problem comes when someone arrives at the bus stop as their bus is just pulling away. Now they have to wait for a bit for the next bus to arrive. So, they sit down rather than stand up (if at a stop with seating). Then, others arrive, some sit, some stand. The issue comes when some guests are just arriving when the bus comes into sight. They walk right to the bus, without even stopping...with no regard for those who have been sitting there for 15+ mins.
This is exactly what happened at Kidani in Dec. My friend and I waited for the bus...stood there, waiting for about 15 mins or so. Well....a family group arrived just as the bus came into view. My friend and I walked over to the bus door and were in the process of getting on when we heard this....'Can you believe some people??? Shoving to get to the front of the line??? You have to be really pushy in WDW to get a seat on a bus nowadays.'...or something to that effect.
But again, most people are pretty decent. That's one of the reasons I like POP....nice, roped off ques for each park bus stop. But even then I've seen some guests just walk past the que line (with guests in it) and go to the bus door. They were quite taken aback when a guest, at the front of the line, informed them that the line was towards the back!!!

I've been at the Value resorts when we had to wait for a third bus in the morining. They have ropes for lines and people do wait in the line.
We've also been at POFQ and there is just a bus stop with no lines and when the bus shows up it was fairly civil. Most people formed a line as they saw what bus it was. Obviously some people are not as nice but I've never seen anyone just jump in front of a line of people to get on.

Just my experience.

Thanks. Were at the 10 day mark and just trying to flesh out all the little details. The closer we get, the more "real" this becomes, and the less sleep we get each night.

There is only a roped queue at some of the resorts such as POP and AS. This works very well. But at others, during peak times, it can be a madhouse. I believe that all bus stops should have the roped queues but it is not possible when different parks share the same bus stop such as what happens at PO and CSR.

Value resorts have queues with marked line areas.
Deluxes do not.

I do not actually know what the mods have because I've never paid attention.

We don't use the buses much, but we've never been in any kind of negative situation regarding people getting on the buses.

No roped queues at POR and POFQ (not sure about the other mods).

We've never been in a situation where there were so many people waiting at the resort bus stop that we were in danger of not getting on the bus. It really doesn't matter if you're the first or twentieth person to get on when the bus is empty.

No roped sections at CBR or AKL. As mentioned, most people are good, but we just got up at AKL and headed toward the loading area when we noticed more people starting to arrive. We didn't have too much trouble. CBR everyone waits at the same spot and busses arrive and there is no specific place to be for each park. You just kind of look to see if it is your park and head to the loading area. There may be others there who arrived after you, but are there. Most times not a problem, except maybe in the morning going to a popular park that day. Good luck. Where are you staying?
