So I thought I would just check and see what the prices were like on Tango to Orlando via Pearson, Its a done deal I dont think I will ever fly out of Toronto again. Why am I paying a U.S.A Immigration User fee of 7.91? I dont have to pay that when I drive my car across the border, true there is a toll when I return but the most that that is is 3.50. I never really saw the breakdown of all the taxes and fee's, which is why I copied this and felt I needed to post this.

U.S.A Transportation Tax 32.80
Canada Security Charge 7.94
U.S Passenger Facility Charge 3.39
Canada Goods and Services Tax (GST/HST #10009-2287) 23.28
September 11 Security Fee 2.83
U.S.A Immigration User Fee 7.91
Total airfare and taxes before options (per passenger) 458.13

Number Of Passengers 2
Grand Total - Canadian Dollars $916.26

we fly 3 to4 times a year from buff.we couldnt do it from toronto.the diff in price covers our room and car. not kidding.why would anyone waist the $$$$$$is beyond me.room and airfare and sometimes car for the same price as out of toronto.you cross the boarder at queenston and thats it your done customs, you land and off to the car then resort in less than half an hour

We got tickets all inclusive for $400 from Toronto. When I am flying in the middle of winter, I don't want to risk getting stuck in a blizzard on my way to Buffalo or my way home to Toronto. I'll gladly pay extra for that convenience. Travelling during the non-snowy season is a different story!

Exactly my reasons. :thumbsup2

Those of us who choose to fly out of Toronto are not crazy or spendthrifty or stupid. We prefer the convenience and sometimes have no choice because of timing, weather, and other factors. Flying out of Buffalo may work for some people but it's not for everybody. Sometimes cost is only part of the equation.

Here! Here! Pxlbarrel. As I type this, I await DH's call about SW flights....he is still considering it. I checked today we can get SW flights from Buf to MCO for $613 CDN ~ all four of us! Hotel and parking is $167 [all taxes and CDN funds]. Right now Air Tango is the cheapest Canadian fare. Taking everything into consideration, The price difference is $1000. HOWEVER! DH really trusts Canadian airline pilots, we live 20 minutes from Pearson, we've always had great experience at Pearson [it feels like HOME at YYZ], our car is at home and we aren't worried about it in a strange parking lot, having a BUF hotel is like taking 2 days to get to MCO, I'm not thrilled about staying in a Buf hotel....I can go on and on. We like Pearson and will pay to fly from there. I'll likely try BUF one day, but I'm a Pearson fan all the way! Blessings, Sandra
