I discovered another reason for me to love SSR. As most of you know from some of my other posts, I have been going to weight watchers for over a year now, and I hit goal 2 weeks ago today,it was my last weigh in before my 1st trip ''home''. I won't pretend I followed all the ''diet'' rules I know by heart, it's vacation after all! I ate at Boma, Alfredo's, Teppanyaki, I could go on and on. So imagine my surprise when I go back to WW this morning to get weighed in, I actually lost a pound on vacation :cool1: I have never lost anything on any vacation ever. I got to thinking about it, and realized it was because I loved the grounds of SSR so much, I walked around, and walked to DTD, a lot!!
SSR is good my health and weight management!
Just had to share!
:)

oh that is wonderful!!!

I generally also lose weight at WDW - I walk alot in the parks and at oKW.

it is such fun walking there.

I need to get back on a program or start my own - I have NEVER in my life weighted as much as I do now - (work problems)

You are to be congratulated!!! :bounce: :cheer2: :cool1:

This is so ironic. I went in FEB being on WW for a month. I went for 6 days and missed weigh in so I went the following weeks meeting and lost 7LBS!!!!!! I wasn't journeling or anything. I also attributed it to the fact that I was walking everywhere while at SSR! That is awesome you lost too! That is definitely another reason to love SSR!

Way to go!!!! We purchased at SSR as well and we stayed in the first building the first weekend it was open. Unlike you I have not reached my goal weight, since I haven't even started, but I did buy the advance vouchers for WW about 2 mos ago and haven't used one yet.

You have now inspired me to attend my first meeting tom. (I would go today, but have a doctor appt.). Wish me luck!

We are traveling to WDW and staying at the WLV for 4 nights and OKW for 3 nights just to try out some other places. We leave in 8 days! Its so nice to talk to folks on this board because everyone knows the excitement associated with this. I guess people would say we're looney, but I think that I hang with the best...the DISers!!!

Take care and keep up the great work! :wave2:

I'm sending you pixie dust! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
BTW, we are looney, but it's a special kind of looney, people either ''get it'' or they don't. I'm kinda happy being looney  Looney about DVC and WDW :cool1:

Great job, Athenna! DH & I always lose a couple when we are there, too, due to all of the walking that we love to do!!

I'll bet you feel just wonderful!

(from one life-time member to another)

Congrats Athenna! Apparently your point totals were not as bad as they could have been! I would be thrilled to know that I hadn't gained, but losing an additional pound is just great!

Wow Athena - that is fantastic!!!

I too enjoy walking around the parks and resorts while we are at WDW. We stayed over night back in April at Coronoda Springs to go to a baseball game (Go Braves! :cool1: ) and we walked to the main area every time we went because it was so beautiful that I felt like I would miss something if we didn't :) We had to put the boys on our shoulders a few times, but for the most part, they were so tickled about the lake, ducks, fish and other items of interest that they hardly noticed.

I would love to go to a game! Wish I had been a member sooner to go the members Spring Training game. My 1st night of vacation this time, my father and I went over to the BW to watch ESPN baseball game and it was the Braves, it was scoreless after 9 innings so we left to back ''home'' to get some sleep, they lost in the 10th. Oh well, but it was fun anyways!

Had to have been all that walking because dinner Thursday night at Boma probably took up my whole weeks points. lol :rotfl2:

Now if I could only convince my DH that going to WDW INSTEAD of going to WW meetings would help me lose faster. Here's a marketing idea: WW partners with Disney for weight loss. WW members get disney discounts, etc......... to vacation at WDW. Come "Walk the World". SIGN ME UP!

OHHHH Yes!! the Boma buffet. Just how many points are in those Zebra Domes?? :rotfl: Multiply that by at least 3 and then add a few more, just for my dessert totals. That wouldn't even include the rest of the buffet. :teeth: I tried to look up Boma in my WW restaurant guide book, and its not there (big surprise!), that must mean that everything eaten there is point free!! :teeth:

Ok, what do people do in WDW? Flex? Core? Nothing?

Woo-hoo point free! :rotfl: I wish! I even had 2 zebra domes! I can't believe how much I ate at Boma. OMG.

Ummm.technically I did nothing, I didn't count points, and didn't follow core, just tried to make smart decisions. For example, one night at the MK, my father was dying for a cheeseburger, so we went to Cosmic Rays. I ordered a veggie burger (it was not too good) and got the carrots w/it. Only after waiting in line forever, I discovered they forgot my carrots, didn't feel like going back.
And portion control (except at Boma :rotfl: ) I hardly finished a meal.

May the Magic of WDW work on my "need to diet" also.

Here's hoping!!!

I'll send some pixie dust your way :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
I figure if I can do it anyone can!
