I know I have asked MANY questions on the boards about reallocating points. I just can't seem to grasp the idea. I've tried to call MS this morning but keep getting a busy signal. I thought I'd come here to see if I can get an answer.
A little background:
My DH and I cancelled a November WDW trip but kept our February trip. Since then, our DS25 has developed a severe autoimmune disease and has been very sick. He is scheduled to see some specialists several hours away over the next few months. He is on waitlists to try to get earlier appointments. We will be traveling with him for emotional support. My first reaction was to cancel our trip completely. He has since shown some improvement, so we are considering going to WDW for a short weekend trip (resort-only). We have tickets to the Daytona 500 that we may lose if we don't go. We have 40 points that will expire on May 31. Plus we may need a break due to the stress that we have endured the past month. We must make a decision by January 17. We will only consider this if he continues to show improvement. I'm wanting to make several back-up plans so here's what I'm wondering...
I have...
*4 nights booked in an AKV value studio using 42 current AKV points and 10 borrowed AKV points.
*2 nights booked in a CCV studio using 42 current AKV points.
*2 nights booked in a SSR studio using 24 borrowed HHI points and 6 banked AKV points.
We want to keep 3 nights in the AKV value studio for a total of 40 points. I know if I cancel the CCV studio, the 42 current AKV points will be put back and we can bank into next year. The issue is if we cancel the SSR studio. I want to use those 30 points toward the AKV value studio instead of the 42 current AKV points. Is this even possible? If not, we may not even consider going at all and may instead rent our points.
