Another question about WDW Tickets at DL!

So I've done some research and have learned that activated, non-expiring WDW park hoppers can be used at DL. We actually have the tickets on our Key to the World card from several years ago. Can anyone confirm that this is possible as well? I've read conflicting reports on using the room keys with tickets on them for this. (For what it's worth, we were able to use them at WDW this past spring!)

Also, I've read that I need to go to the turnstiles at DL, and not guest relations. How early can I do this? It looks like opening time the week we are there is 8:00 or 9:00AM every day. We are not eligible for early entry, but I am thinking that since one of the parks will actually be open by the time we get there because of early entry, we could fairy quickly/easily get the DL passes each morning. If I get the DL ticket at the DL turnstiles during the hour of early entry for Disneyland Park, can I go over to DCA and actually enter that park instead afterwards? (When it opens, of course.) (It is park hopping days we are switching over from WDW.)

The day we arrive, we will not be doing a park. If I take our old WDW tickets to the turnstiles that evening, can they just confirm for me how many days are left. I am 99.99% sure I know, I just want to make sure!

I think maybe I am thinking about this waaay too much. :) I just don't want to spend a lot of time getting tickets switched over if it would be easier to just buy Disneyland tickets! But since we live on the west coast now, we thought it would be best to just use the remaining WDW days at DL! We may end up doing what I've seen a couple of other people do - see how using the old WDW tickets goes, but plan on buying DL tickets if we need to.

Just a quick bump! Although at this point I am leaning towards just buying DL tickets, because this is seeming like a huge hassle!

I too was planning to use my WDW tickets at DL but after reading various threads etc about how long it takes and that people have had more than 1 day removed, it just seems to me to be too much of a hassle so I too am leaning towards just buying tickets to DL.

I'd be curios how this turns out because my parents are going to be using their wdw tickets when we go this October. We'll be buying tickets straight but they are banking on using their days from their non expiring tickets and I'm hoping they hoppers too.

It still annoys me that this is even a concern. It's the same company, they should be the same ticket.

Yeah, I'm not getting straight answers anywhere about any of this. I've even been told to not even worry about calling Disney directly because those CMs will not know anything about transferring tickets over.

Looks like I'll just buy DL tickets. Totally doesn't seem worth the hassle so far.

I used an old WDW ticket that had been activated with the non expire option at DLR on Leap Day with no problems.

Go straight to the turnstiles. They should be able to do it before actual opening time as long as a CM is there. It took less than 5 minutes to exchange tickets. I was handed my old WDW ticket and a 1 day pass to DL to use.

I don't know who told you this but I called Disneyland guest services and the person I spoke to confirmed that WDW tickets could indeed be used at Disneyland. So apparently this isn't some top secret policy that DL doesn't want you to know about.

I too read several different posts concerning using WDW tickets at DL. I decided to just by DL tickets. That gives me an excuse to go back to WDW again, where the park hopping tickets are worth more anyway (4 parks compared to 2).

This is much what we did two years ago. Actually, we had a WDW world trip booked back to back with a DL trip. We used 5 days at WDW and 5 at DL. They weren't non-expiring but we were within the 14 day window of first use. It only took a few minutes extra at the turnstiles.

It wasn't all bad for DL anyway. Since we saved on tickets we felt freer to spend on souveneirs and food. Love my beautiful DisneyLand bag, mug, magnets, pins, and the girls' Disneyland Park Cinderella and Jasmine costumes. :thumbsup2

Wonderful info - thanks for asking & answering this question! I too have NE PH WDW tickets that I wondered if they could be used at DL. We just booked GCV with DVC & I am super excited! Even if it is 10 months away!

Although keep in mind, using park hopping tickets at WDW gets you less rides than you would get if you used them at DLR.

Have your NE PH WDW tickets been activated at WDW? If so, you'll have no problems. If not, then YMMV.

That's an interesting way to look at things because a lot of WDW vets think park hopping at WDW isn't really worth the trouble due to all the time wasted traveling between parks. In contrast hopping is so easy at DLR that a lot of people feel a hopper ticket is almost essential.
