Another question about the Vacation Planning Kit...

On my other thread asking how long it takes to arrive some mentioned they got the dvd, others said they got a video tape.... where on the request form did it ask you which one you wanted? I don't remember seeing it, or do they just send you both?

When I ordered it the end of last year I don't remember if there was a box you checked for tape or dvd. I just filled it out and received a dvd week or so later. I think they are sending Dvds becasue I think thats what the majority of the people have dvd players now a days. I may be wrong some one can probably clarify some more. I think you can also call up and request too.

I filled out the online request because we had the old video, I was hoping for DVD, I ended up getting the video tape again

I'm going to call and request the DVD now since our VCR is toast.

Where are you asking for DVD? I've checked and re-checked the form, but cannot find anywhere to designate DVD or VHS. I have an old VHS, can't even remember where it is, I've been wanting the DVD. So, I went to the disneyworld.com site to request, and hopefully, I will get the DVD!!

It's weird. Sometimes it will ask you for DVD/VHS preference, other times it won't . I know because I ordered a DVD, got a video. Unfortunately, I don't have a VCR. Went to order another one. Didn't have the option. Went on later, had the option. Still got sent the VHS. 4 VHS's later, I finally got the DVD. I guard that thing with my life now. Scared to let anyone borrow it. They don't know what I went through to get it!!

I believe this may be an issue of supply and demand. While Disney gives you a choice of VHS or DVD, whether you receive the DVD depends on if marketing has it in stock. I requested a DVD and received VHS. A travel industry friend informs me that Disney's travel agent only website is currently showing the DVD as 'temporarily out of stock.' You may want to try ordering again in a few weeks.

Of course you can always check out eBay. I'm sure someone is selling their freebie DVD over there.
