Another question about the towel animals

I'm just curious. What else would you expect Mousekeeping to say ? Tips are certainly a part of their income. I certainly have no dog in this race and I'm not trying to start anything at all I just don't understand why anyone would think a mousekeeper has the authority to give permission for something such as this. I can certainly respect those who ask a manager. I guess I'm just at a loss as to why some folks just don't tell their children that the towel animals live at Disney.

LOL here we go again. If someone that works at Disney knocks on my hotel room door and tells me that they made me this towel creation (like shown below) and it's mine to take home, I'm not going to run to management to ask if it's okay.

Here is a little info behind the towel buddies for y'all. It started out with a few mousekeepers doing it then more as more found out about it. Mousekeepers learn to make them from each other, we do not have any offical classes on them. So we have to learn in our spare time and make them in our spare time. We clean 18 rooms in an 8 hour day and most of us do not take lunch so we can do the best we can on the rooms. So if you do not get a towel buddy please do not feel insulted. It has nothing to do with you just with the time and ability we have. I myself am a new hire and have not picked up my speed on my rooms yet and have not learned to make them yet. I also do not have a regular section of rooms to clean I just fill in for others on their days off. Some mousekeepers make lots in advance and keep them on their cart if so I do put those in their sections of rooms when I fill in for them. I do not get the credit for these nor do I get the tip from it. It's all part of making the magic.

We stayed at ASMu last time. My middle son at the time was a little over 1. He had a dog blanket that he slept with(still does and he's almost 6). The mousekeeper always put his dog in some arrangement with the towel buddies. I thought it was great! (PS Didn't know I was suppose to tip everyday then either!(

Why are you so hostile ? I'm not saying anything about you. I'm just expressing my view. You feel justified and that should be good enough for you. I would never take anything from a hotel unless I asked a manager. Thats just me. Actually I'd never ask a manager either. :earboy2:

Who's hostile? I just don't care for the implication that those of us that were presented with a towel creation as a gift are theives, that's all.

Would you mind please showing me where I said you were a thief ? If you feel guilty it's certainly not because of me. I think you are over reacting just a wee bit !

I didn't say you called me a thief and I don't feel guilty about anything because I haven't done anything wrong.

I guess you missed that entire thread that was locked where people were being slammed for taking something that was presented to them as a gift.

We just spent four nights at Pop and there were some of the coolest towel animals! We were thrilled to have a basket and a swan (or turkey? some sort of bird with DS's toothbrush in the middle). His stuffed Pooh and Mickey were watching out the window for us. In the other windows we saw a butterfly, an elephant, a Minnie head, a dog, a monkey (hanging from a hanger - too cute), and a doll. We only had towel creations the first night, but I thought it was fabulous! I went down to the front desk and asked if it was ok to bring them home - I was told yes. DS has them in his room right now.

The second night Pooh and Mickey were watching TV (with the remote).

Nothing remarkable the third and fourth nights but the resort was very crowded by then. Our room was very clean the whole time.

No I didn't miss it but I fail to see what that has to do with this conversation which was civel until you suggested there was some implication by myself of some wrong doing. I do not agree with your logic in getting permission from Mousekeeping. That does not make me right and you wrong. I wouldn't take silverware if the waitress said it was ok. I wouldn't take the cute little S&P shakers from room service because someone on the staff said it was ok. Thats just me. You are obviously different and entitled to your view. I think the basket in your photo is very nice. We have never received any such as that. If we did I bet DW would call the manager as well. We can dissagree agreeably. Its ok if were not all the same.
