Another question about Summer Crowds

Ok, I know this subject probably gets talked to death, however, it has never been of interest to me until now. We went last fall 1st week of October. Mid week was dead, then the weekend hit and it was packed (also happened to be gay days weekend). So Is there any comparing summer crowds to the gay days weekend? Does it get even more crowded? Does it ever seem reasonably slow during the week in the summer?

Having only been the one time last fall, I can't even wrap my mind around how exactly crowded it could get. I know there are hydroguys tips for dealing with crowds. I'm just trying to see if what experienced on gay days even comes close to potential summer crowds?

Also, about the heat. I know there is controvesy on what people consider hot, however does July or August seem to be unbearable on an average summer day? We have two little ones, (just turned 4 and 6).

My husband and I never went during the summer...the closest that we went to summer was about the second week in june.

I've been before with my family a few years ago though in mid july and it was horrible...we had my niece's and nephews and they were just miserable because of heat and there just being so many bodies around..

I do believe it is doable though, taking breaks during the hottest parts of the day, drinking lots of water, etc.

when we wet in August one year it was sooo busy, and long waits. but then we did not know ab out fast passes, now that we are going again this august I know it will be packed so we are prepared.
fast pass is your friend, and also getting to the park when it opens!

The heat definitely depends on the individual and what you are used to. I live nearby and have the Southern California AP. For the most part, I never want to go in July or August as it's just too hot and uncomfortable to me. It's likely to be in the 90s, with occasional 100s and 80s. I do usually go once in late August after our blockout dates are over. Sometimes we'll go late in the day so we can stay late to avoid most of the heat.

I would try to arrive early before it's too hot, take a midday break to swim or relax in the AC, then come back to the park and stay til closing. You may get lucky and have a bit cooler weather, but I wouldn't count on it. I like to bring a mister when it's hot.

Just be sure to use sunscreen, don't get sunburned and drink lots of water and I'm sure you'll have a great time.

We have for the most part have gone mid to late August, it is warm to hot but we come from an area that is usually over 100 degree's everyday during that time of the year. You have to stay hydrated all the time.
It is busy, but doable. We take mid day breaks.

We love this time of the year, besides that this is the only time we are allowed to take vacation from work and the kids are out of school.

I'm so glad to hear that August is hot and crowded, but doable. We HAVE to take our vacation in August this year. All the other years, we have gone in the off season, so I'm worried. We're just trying to be prepared as possible. Hopefully, if we know what we're getting ourselves in to, it won't be so bad!

We will be there July 24 August 1 (me, DH, DD10, DD8, DS1.5)
We get in on a Friday and leave the following Sat by lunch. I know this will be a very busy time...are there any days that a more busy than others....wondering if I should schedule Sea World & Leggo Land days on the days that Disney is more busy? Any thoughts?

I think as far as heat goes (I'm from AZ!!) CA is wetter than AZ but drier than TX! It gets warm, even uncomfortable in a long line at times but if you stay hydrated & bring a little fan, no worries.

I can't answer Gay Days vs Summer, all I know is Summer vs Winter (not holidays!) there is a remarkable difference.
