Another question about Nassau...

We will be on the May 15th, Wonder cruise. Myself, dh, ds(9) & ds(2) would like to go to the Atlantis aquarium tour. I have been reading on here for sometime about going on our own, & not booking the excursion through Disney. My question is, how do you do this? Can you take a cab from the port? Don't you have to take a boat over to the island? Does anyone know the costs of all this?

If anyone can help with these questions (which I'm sure that you all can ) I would greatly appreciate it.

You can either take a taxi from the port $10.00 one-way, I think, for 1 person. I also took the water taxi but there's a HUGE walk from the water taxi pier to Atlantis, a HUGE walk to see Atlantis and the aquarium and then the HUGE walk back to the water taxi pier to get back to the cruise ship pier.

We took a taxi (there's a ton of them out side waiting as you get off the ship) for $4pp...part of which included the tax/fee to go over to pardise island. Just tell the taxi person you want to go to Atlantis Hotel and Casino....then you can pay admission to the aquarium (aprox $25pp). If you do that you'll be able to roam around the hotel and casino...but not out around the pools, slides, or beach. There is a good sized public beach off the back of Atlantis.

Myself I wasn't very impressed with their aquarium...and felt it wasn't worth the admission price that they ask. It was cool...and neat...but not worth the big $ they ask...JMO
