another question about Jambo vs Kidani studios...

I've been reading threads comparing the two, but I haven't found one that really answers all my questions.

I stayed in a Jambo savanna view studio and, though we did see animals (not zebras or giraffes), our location was in a corner above a service road. DD enjoyed the animals we did see but I was not impressed with the corner location, and I was hoping to see the giraffes and/or zebras.

This time I am thinking of booking a standard view for DH and myself (his first time at this resort). I really liked Jambo - the lobby, the pool, proximity to Mara and, since animals can be seen around the resort, they don't have to be outside of my balcony, but that would be nice. Walking to Kidani for Sanaa is not an issue, as we love to walk.

I also saw that someone said the bathroom and kitchenette were not so good at Kidani, but it looks like there is a door separating the toilet area and the kitchenette has a large area near the front door - right? Have the room plans changed or is the DVC room diagram misleading? It looks nice to me.

Are the standard views in each comparable? I did read where the savanna views at Kidani are better because of the amount of giraffes and zebras - if I decide to use more points. I don't want to end up with a mediocre savanna view like I did before. I would rather save my points if I can't be sure of the animal view.

Thoughts?

If you think you might be disappointed in the Savanna view I wouldn't book it then. There are no guarantees that you will see lots of animals or that your savanna view will be perfect as you already experienced.

The biggest difference in the bathroom areas between Jambo and Kidani is that Jambo has two sinks in the vanity area. The Jambo villas are all converted hotel rooms and DVC reused the sinks for the DVC villas. I could only find a photo of a Jambo House kitchenette from villa 5385, a Savanna View.

Perhaps someone else can show you a photo of a Kidani studio kitchenette. As well as photos of the vanities for both. I seem to only have photos of the values at Jambo House.

To me the biggest difference between studios at Jambo and Kidani is the bathroom. I can't find my pictures of Kidani but I don't recall noticing much if anything about the kitchenette. The bathroom at Kidani is all in one room with the toilet in a smaller room in it so if someone is taking a shower or using the sink (only 1 sink) you need to walk into that part of the bathroom to get into the water closet. At Jambo there are 2 sinks that are located outside of the toilet/shower room.

Standard views at Kidani will mostly face the parking lot with a few that face the pool and a few that are reclassified savanna views that were considered poor. At Jambo the standard views either face the pool or are reclassified savanna views that were considered poor. If booking a standard view we prefer Jambo.

David's has some room layouts. It looks like the kitchenette is smaller at Kidani to accomodate an extra closet, and the bathroom layout is different with two sinks and the shower/toilet separated.

Thanks for the diagrams. Actually, I think I like the Kidani set up for just two people. DH and I usually take turns and don't use the facilities at the same time, so it looks like Kidani's bathroom would give more privacy. Also, if brewing coffee in the a.m., it looks like it would be less disturbing if someone was still trying to rest.
