Since I can't access Search, I need to start a new thread. Hopefully this is a different thread about President's Week.

I'm crossing my fingers that we will be going to the Florida theme parks over Thanksgiving, but DH (well his former boss) threw us a monkey wrench by releaseing him before Thanksgiving last year. He had a new job about a month later, but we're busting our rears to catch up on the bills. If we decide to postpone the Thanksgiving trip because the money still needs to be put towards paying bills, I am looking at the week preceding President's Day 2005 as an alternate. Of course I'm going to do all I can to have everything up to date long before then so I can get to Orlando ASAP.

I choose the week before President's Day because DD12 just brought home a P/T conference schedule for this coming Feb. and they will have class all day on Monday, then early dismissal three days and no school Friday, plus off on Monday for President's Day. The same should hold true for next year as well.

Define President's Week . It's the week beginning with the federal holiday, ie 2/16/04, right? If so, I would be avoiding the PW crowds by leaving WDW over the weekend leading to Pres. Day, maybe going to the Daytona 500 on Sun. and getting out of "Dodge" (Florida that is) before the crowds arrive for President's Week.

What do you think?

Hi : I am hoping the week before presidents week is an off week with Friday starting with the crowds.
The week before Presidents weekend Spectro is only playing on Friday and Saturday at 8 pm. We are leaving on Saturday.

Hotels were cheap this week compared to presidents weekend.

was hard finding a place to fit all week in as a lot of hotels were booked from Thursday on.
So--with that,,,imkeeping my fingers crossed.

DH and I should be able to answer that question for you as we are heading to WDW Feb 1-12th! We'll let you know how it goes!

The week before President's week is usually a low attendence week. It starts to pick up around Wednesday, last day of value season. Some people like myself try to arrive by Wednesday to get the value rate on their resort. By Friday the resorts start filling up, with S-S-M being very crowded.

I also hear the traffic to Daytona can be a nightmare.
