So my DD is almost 3(2 more weeks) and has been potty training since the fall. A little back story: I was laid off in September and home with my kids until January when I started a new job. Well during that time I thought it would be perfect to PT my DD. She was doing great. We had some issues, but mostly she was progressing as she should. So I go back to work in January and she goes back to daycare full time. The first week she had an accident everyday. Totally understandable. Then she is fully potty trained. No accidents or issues for almost a month. Then all of a sudden she starts wetting her pants again. Some days it's once. Some days it's 5 times. Sometimes she does it right when she is with us.

Initially we took her to the doctor, in case it was an infection. They said she was fine and sometimes children just 'regress'. Well it's been about 1 1/2 months and she is still not back on track. She will have a good day or couple of days and then it is right back to wetting her pants again.

I need help. We have done everything, from rewards, extra attention, bribery, etc. I even threatened her with going back to diapers (I know probably not the smartest idea), and she said 'yes, I want to wear a diaper'.

Has anyone else ever been through this? What did you do?

Most of mine regressed - I nakey butted them at home, and that helped. My poor sister's kids totally regressed for months - my nephew is almost 6 and still has issues (although I don't agree how she handles it - lots of punishment).

It sounds like it has the potential of becoming a power struggle (NOT something you want to have happen!). It sounds like your daughter is already challenging your threats (I learned a LONG time ago to never threaten my child with something unless I was fully able and willing to follow up and do what I had threatened. If she's saying she wants to wear a diaper, I'd invest in some cloth diapers instead of disposables; chances are, she won't like the wet/poopy feeling of the cloth diaper).

My son finally trained when we had "magic water" in the toilet. I bought blue tidy-bowl; he LOVED making the water change from blue to green when he peed into the toilet!

DD was 4 1/2 when she finally became potty trained (she's very headstrong, and needed to do it when she was ready). I had supplies for her to change herself if she went in her pants. She also had to help me do the laundry that resulted from her wetting her pants. I didn't give bribes or punishments; I think she finally got tired of stopping whatever she was doing to have to change herself, and started going in the toilet. Once she decided to go in the bathroom instead of in her pants, she never had another accident.

25% of kids aren't potty trained before the age of 4. I'd take a step back and follow your daughter's lead. Good luck!
